“I’m Min Jahyun. Do you think I’d just let you step on me obediently? This isn’t the first time something like this has happened, as you say.”
“Yes. If you can block it, try blocking it once.”
Nodding obediently, just like a child taking its first steps, Seungyul started to walk toward the platform. Watching Seungyul, Jaeik recalled memories from 28 years ago.
“Jaeik, from now on, you’re my son.”
In middle school, nearly sold due to his father’s gambling debt, Jaeik, who was saved by Chairman Choi Seung-do, strived to repay the favor by gritting his teeth.
‘Why does Chairman Choi favor Kang Jae-ik? He has his own son. Even if Choi Jae-ha has no interest in managing the company, does Chairman Choi really plan to leave the company to Kang Jae-ik, leaving his only legitimate son behind? Trusting the son of a gambler. If you look into it, the son Chairman Choi Jae-ha brought in might be Kang Jae-ik, not his own son?’
“Ignorant fool. Do you really think Chairman Choi likes Kang Jae-ik? It’s just a means to properly pass on the company to his own sons. Those who grew up in difficult circumstances like Kang Jae-ik have a strong need for recognition. If you treat them a little well, they’ll think of you as a real father, even going as far as giving away their future. They don’t even realize it’s their own grave. Just watch. All kinds of dirty work will be assigned to Kang Jae-ik, and in the end, all the glory will go to his son, Choi Jae-ha.”
Chuckling. The joy of salvation turned into resentment and betrayal at the laughter of the employees who scorned him.
“Jaek, I believe you’ll become a better lawyer than me.”
Only then did Jae-ik feel the relief of a long-standing mystery being solved.
Why does that brat Choi Jae-ha enjoy it when my father favors me, even though I am his legitimate son?

At least once, it would be reasonable to ask why Chairman Choi prefers Jae-ik over me, even though I am his real son.
Choi Jae-ha already knew.
I’m just a pawn who will dirty his hands for the one who will inherit the company……!
So, while Jae-ik was rolling in, he planned and executed a crime during Chairman Choi’s business trip to Japan, disguised as a traffic accident, making the world believe he died in an accident.
However, after the funeral, a name he never expected flowed out from the mouth of the consulting lawyer who announced the will.
‘Inherits all shares and rights of Choi Seung-do to his grandson, Choi Gyu-hwan.’
Jae-ik’s expectations, who naturally thought he would take over the company instead of the deceased Choi Jae-ha, completely collapsed.
Who would have known that the old man would leave the company to his grandson, just 7 years old, leaving his own son behind?
Jae-ik had been patient, thinking that if he married Han Na, the illegitimate daughter of the old man, he would naturally fall into his hands. However, after entering university, Gyu-hwan started following Professor Kim Yong-hoon, who taught criminal law, and before he even raised a glass for the wedding, he had already filed a marriage report.
As Gyu-hwan was already an adult, even if Jae-ik used his connections in the legal profession to fight in court, it was impossible to annul the marriage registration due to his engagement with the minor Han Na.

Thinking that Kim Yong-hoon had already conspired with his opposition, Jae-ik’s anger reached its peak.
The woman who became a stumbling block to strategic marriage throughout her life continued to haunt Han Na even after death.
The child born with an incomplete heart managed to survive until the end, providing a constant excuse for postponing her father’s marriage. In the end, the child’s existence led to a divorce after colliding with the governess brought in by Kim Yong-hoon.
That’s why I have to muster the courage to push Choi Gyu-hwan away.
Facing Min Ja-hyun, who glared at her with bloodshot eyes, Jae-ik met her gaze and lifted the corners of his lips with a willing attitude.
Indeed. You should have properly disciplined your son. What will you do now if he resents me when he comes here?
I’ve already given him a chance, and it was Choi Gyu-hwan who wasted that chance, not me.
“Hello. On behalf of my father, I apologize to the employees for causing concern due to health issues.”
Jae-ik faced the child, who bowed politely with eyes like a satiated beast.
Seeing the child who had become so polite to save her father, who was like a lamb sacrificed on an altar, made Jae-ik feel pity.
“Christmas Eve morning. My father, who collapsed from a heart attack while preparing for work as usual, received emergency treatment with CPR and was transferred to the hospital. Although the medical staff was concerned about serious brain damage at the time of the collapse, fortunately, no additional brain damage requiring surgery or treatment was found.”

As if dispelling the heavy atmosphere in the meeting room, the child’s voice was surprisingly bright.
“According to the doctor, my father is currently in a state of deep sleep, like hibernating in winter.”
“…….”
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
