Though being an elderly page must have been quite uncomfortable, Heidi didn’t seem to mind much. She said she would soon move to another palace, coinciding with the new emperor’s coronation, and would serve there as a maid. Ines simply assumed that was why Heidi showed her no particular interest.

After Heidi left, Ines got up from her bed. She had succeeded in entering the palace with great hope, yet she still felt just as lost as before.

Except for the knights guarding the main gate, no knights were stationed in the masterless palace.

“Who is it…?”
