Hansen, who had approached them unnoticed, added:

Charlotte spoke with genuine admiration. He cleared his throat and continued.

“In Poulderfin, there’s no fixed age for adulthood. The year a father officially acknowledges his son as heir is precisely when that son becomes an adult. On that day, nobles and commoners alike all come out to sprinkle water on the streets and bless one another. It seems this custom still lingers here in Monstera.”
