The lounge area set up in one corner of the banquet hall was structured with thick curtains dividing one large living room into several small spaces.

While holding two glasses of cold sparkling wine and looking for Danae and Leonard, I found them in the innermost space. It was a simple and cozy room with large doors and windows leading to a balcony attached to the garden. There, Danae was lying down as if reclining, with her legs draped over the armrest of the long sofa, and Leonard was leaning and standing right next to her.

I extended one wine glass to the lying Danae and said.

“Drink this for now, Danae.”

Danae snatched the wine glass from me and gulped it down in one go.

With a sigh like “Hoo,” she exhaled and then looked at me, bursting out the anger she hadn’t fully released earlier.

“So annoying! That worthless viscount-born girl just because she hooked a gift from Duke Haven, acting all flattering like she’s some princess! And those people who were all on my side just a moment ago!”

“……Danae. Calm down.”

“How the hell did that obnoxious Duke Haven even know to come here? If he has someone he wants to meet, he should just see them and leave, why bother giving a gift to that girl? Does the duke have money to burn? To the point of casually giving such an expensive dress to a girl like that?”

I leaned against the curtain dividing the space while pretending to soothe her.
