“Anyway… there’s no result, is there?”

Adrian muttered, feeling slightly deflated.

He couldn’t find a single room anywhere—every direction led only to identical corridors—and now, surrounded by countless identical pillars rising from the underground, he felt as if he were on the verge of losing his mind.

He decided he had to calmly admit failure this time and focus first on getting out of here.

Adrian began rewinding his thread and headed back toward the entrance.

Having wandered the underground for quite a while, the way back felt long.

Feeling slightly fatigued, Adrian pulled out the thread he’d left at the entrance and stood on the railing of the dungeon’s third level, scanning with his eyes for the best way down to the water below. After quickly reaching a decision, he vaulted over the railing.

Using psychokinesis minimally, he descended smoothly to the lowest level, then moved to look for a suitable spot to enter the water.

It was then, as he happened to place his hand against one of the pillars, that an unfamiliar sensation prickled his fingertips, and unconsciously, his expression tightened.

The vibration traveling through the pillar was far stronger than he’d expected—almost as if it were riding the current of water itself.

Adrian, who’d briefly wondered if the pillar had rotted from age, examined the one his hand touched.

Visually, it appeared perfectly intact, yet when he tapped it a few times with his hand, something felt off.

‘Is it hollow inside?’

He couldn’t be certain, but the sound when tapped had a strangely resonant quality. And when he pressed his ear to it, he heard the echoing sound of water within, confirming his senses weren’t mistaken.
