Laila blinked rapidly, struggling to make sense of the situation, then timidly voiced her guess.

“An artifact…?”

“Yes.”

Adrian smiled again and gently dropped the artifact into her palm. Caught off guard by the sudden handover, Laila’s eyes widened in surprise—her gaze clearly demanding a proper explanation.

“The baron will be declared dead here. So you’ll scream right away and leave this place, then take that artifact straight to Isabella.”

“What… are you talking about?”
