It felt like all her nerves were focused there; the soft touch of the finger was stimulating.
It felt like a mark was left where the finger had passed as if to wipe it off.
It was a truly strange sensation.
Startled by a sensation she had never felt before, Ye Seul opened her eyes.
Could it be that the vanished passion was regrettable?
“It’s cocoa powder.”
Si Heon showed his thumb to Ye Seul.
And then he brought that finger to his own blushing lips.
Seeing the corners of his mouth rise as if he was deliberately teasing, she became angry.
This man keeps scratching at Ye Seul’s emotions.
“I think I’m a little drunk, so I’ll go to sleep.”
Ye Seul abruptly got up from her seat.

Wasn’t this fight unfavorable for Ye Seul, who had no experience in love?
Her heart raced as if it was going to burst from the unexpected touch on her fingertip, which was quite startling.
She told herself not to react so awkwardly and tried to leave her seat.
“Miss Ye Seul.”
Her heart pounded violently when Si Heon called her name.
“Was it delicious?”
Si Heon shook the chocolate tin case and smiled quietly.
“Brush your teeth before going to bed. You might get a cavity.”
Feeling teased once again, Ye Seul furrowed her brows and headed to the bathroom.
Standing in front of the mirror in the powder room, she faced her flushed face.
Wouldn’t it be better to refrain from drinking alone?
She thought it was harmful to her heart.

Ye Seul woke up to a noisy sound.
Ye Seul was planning to come to work a little late because of a morning schedule.
She found herself back in bed before she knew it.
The one who moved her to the bed when she fell asleep on the sofa was Si Heon.
Si Heon’s conviction that a couple should sleep in the same bed was consistent.
There was no pressure for Ye Seul to fulfill the nocturnal duties between a couple that she had been worrying about.
They didn’t even hold hands, let alone sleep together.
When Ye Seul opened her eyes, sometimes she was in Si Heon’s arms.
Ye Seul vaguely remembered when Si Heon moved her to the bed.
The sensation of floating in the air from the sofa.

Leaning on the warmth, swaying, and getting drunk on the sweet scent.
The sheets rustled.
And then, a gentle voice that reached her in her sleep.
‘Sleep well’
The three syllables were like a lullaby, leading her into deep sleep.
The spot next to Ye Seul was now empty.
When she looked at the clock, Si Heon’s work hours had already passed.
Ye Seul peered beyond the glass partition.
A woman who seemed to be in her early thirties, dressed in a black long skirt, was putting something in the refrigerator.
Who is she? Could she be…, Si Heon’s girlfriend?

Unconsciously, Ye Seul held her breath and backed away, trying not to be caught by the woman.
“Hello? Nice to meet you.”
The woman greeted Ye Seul politely when she noticed her.
“Oh… hello?”
Ye Seul recalled how unfamiliar she was with dealing with people, given that her main stage was the kitchen.
“I’m taking care of the representative’s household. I was sent by Butler Yang. No one was around at this time… I’m sorry I haven’t received the madam’s schedule yet.”
Ye Seul’s tension turned into a sigh of relief.
She wasn’t his lover.
“My name is Ham Ye Seul.”
Ye Seul exchanged greetings with the woman and prepared to go to work.
“I have to go to the company…”
Ye Seul awkwardly bid farewell and prepared to leave.
“It’s a relief that you seem to be on good terms with the representative.”
“Yes, I suppose so.”
Ye Seul smiled awkwardly.
Ye Seul wasn’t particularly fond of sharing her stories with others.

She bowed her head awkwardly as the woman started talking.
“Then, take care.”
She quickly said her goodbye and prepared to go to work.
The place where Ye Seul could best express herself was the kitchen, and the chocolate desserts born from her fingertips were the results.
She was more comfortable expressing her feelings through her chocolate desserts than through conversation.
Come to think of it, she was unconsciously having conversations with Si Heon.
Was the title of ‘husband’ something special to Ye Seul too?
Or, it seemed like it was out of curiosity to know Baek Si Heon.
As she finished her morning tasks and entered the company building, a familiar woman was at the reception desk.
In a black dress that revealed her figure, Juliet, even wearing sunglasses indoors, was talking to the receptionist and then headed towards the elevator.
Why was Juliet here?

Was she really trying to do business with Si Heon?
While hesitating whether to go and greet her, the elevator arrived and Juliet got on.
Contrary to Juliet’s thoughts, Ye Seul had quite liked her in Paris.
Ye Seul stopped by the sample room.
She thought she should go and greet Juliet.
Juliet couldn’t sleep, her nerves on edge, since she had met Ye Seul at the Petit Chocolat Café.
Why did it have to be Ham Ye Seul?
Juliet had disliked Ye Seul since Paris.
It was annoying to be compared to Ye Seul just because they were both Korean, and Ye Seul even gained Sebastian’s trust.
Juliet couldn’t forgive Ye Seul for receiving better evaluations than herself, even though she didn’t have anything.

She had proposed a new chocolate product at C’Doux, but there was a time when the two of them brought similar designs.
The types of nuts and dried fruits inside, the amount of chocolate in the sponge were different, but the majority of the design concept was similar to the chocolate cake.
Juliet strongly protested to Sebastian that Ye Seul had stolen her work, but Sebastian didn’t take any sides.
“How about either both of you discard the design, or publish it under a joint name?”
That’s nonsense!
If it was in Korea, everyone would have sided with Juliet, but in France, where her connections were weak, it was difficult to protest.
Choi Moon Kyung. As the youngest granddaughter of the chairman of Han Kyung Trading, she was raised without any lack. It was the first time she felt such an injustice.
After completing the practical experience she had promised to her family, Juliet returned to Korea and opened a Petit Chocolate.
She ignored the news about the Korean chocolatier who was popular in France.
After all, in Korea, Juliet was the best.

But… Ye Seul turned out to be the wife of her man.
No one had seen Baek Si Heon’s wife during his 7 years of marriage.
There was a rumor in the ladies’ salon of the business world that it was a strategic marriage for 7 years.
Chairman Baek also promised to divorce soon.
She thought it would be hers if she just waited for the divorce, but her stomach turned when she remembered the two of them affectionately leaving the Petit Chocolate café.
Juliet was angry that Ye Seul was once again taking her place.
Damn woman.
The place she was guided to was a conference room visible from outside through the glass.
“Mr. Baek Si Heon. I’m glad to see you again.”
Si Heon guided Juliet to a chair and sat across from her.
“You came sooner than I expected. Do you have a business proposal?”
Si Heon couldn’t just send Juliet away when she visited after mentioning Han Kyung Trading.

Chairman Baek would be annoyed if he heard about it, he couldn’t cause that for a while.
There was a risk that it could backlash onto Ye Seul.
“Oh, why are you being so stiff? You know that I worked as a chocolatier at Chloe and C2, right?”
“I heard it from my wife.”
Juliet got up from her seat and approached Si Heon.
Si Heon stood up from his seat, narrowing his brows uncomfortably.
“I came here because I have something important to tell you.”
Juliet gave a meaningful smile.
“Chloe has a boyfriend.”
Your marriage life is over now, Chloe.
“Sebastian and Chloe… They’re famous at C2. What do you think about a wife who does such a thing even though she has a husband?”
Juliet looked at the stiff Si Heon and smiled with satisfaction.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
