Fearlessly (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 7
Who in the world would ever call themselves a good person and then start a conversation by suddenly stabbing a knife into someone’s neck?
Recalling the sensation of that cold blade, her mind grew even calmer.
Some pain crushes her, leaving her hollow, while other pain awakens her will to live.
‘Now is…’
Even if a terrible price awaited, this was the moment to find a way to fight, to collide, and to survive.
Her gaze, fixed on the short corridor Lakrahan had walked down, grew even firmer.
Thud.
Once both Lakrahan and Bercheria entered the room, silence once again settled over the corridor.
Rustle.
Not long after, a shadow abruptly rose at the far end of the corridor, then swiftly vanished into the darkness.
Gerard, Emperor of the Periat Empire, was originally born the third of five brothers.
There were many reasons why he, the third son, became emperor.
The reigning emperor had suddenly fallen ill and died just three days later; soon after, the eldest son also perished from the same symptoms.
Then the second son, who had gone hunting, suddenly dropped dead from a heart attack.
The only remaining younger brother was born of a concubine and, for no apparent reason, went mad and was banished from the imperial family.
In the end, only his younger sister Kelita remained.
She had survived because Kelita was not seen by Gerard as a threat.
She was simply innocent and kind.
“Did you sleep well, Your Imperial Majesty?”
She was a beautiful simpleton.
“My rest is always comfortable, so do not worry.”
Gerard, seated on the throne, extended his hand with a benevolent expression.
Kelita, standing below the dais like a pretty doll with a cheerful smile, glided toward Gerard.
The moment she kissed the back of his hand, another hand immediately appeared beside it.
The diamond ring on that hand was worth enough to feed every citizen of Periat abundantly for an entire month.
“My lovely Kelita. Have you finished all your preparations for the north?”
“Yes. I prepared everything in advance, so please don’t worry.”
Still smiling cheerfully, Kelita also kissed the emperor’s consort, who was barely a few years older than herself.
After sweetly meeting the eyes of both of them, Kelita gently walked back down the stairs.
“Hmm.”
Gerard leaned deeply back into the throne.
His consort Lione perched her hips on the ornate golden armrest right beside him.
Her hand rested naturally on Gerard’s shoulder.
Like that, Lione quietly watched Kelita walk away, her dress swaying gently.
Narrowing her eyes slightly with a smile, she soon whispered into Gerard’s ear.
“Your Imperial Majesty, isn’t our Kelita far too lovely? Doesn’t she always handle matters too softly?”
“Hmm.”
“This time, you must command her to secure a definite engagement promise. That’s the only way to tie Lakrahan down, isn’t it?”
Gerard stroked his beard pointlessly, feigning dignity, yet his full attention was fixed on his consort’s whisper in his ear.
“My revered Imperial Majesty, never forget that everyone in the imperial household exists solely for you.”
A faint smirk tugged at Gerard’s lips.
“After all, Your Imperial Majesty is the greatest in this world.”
In a good mood, his lips relaxed as he gestured toward Kelita with his chin.
“Kelita. This time, you must bring back a definite answer from Lakrahan. We can no longer delay the marriage.”
“Not an engagement?”
“Marriage.”
“But, Your Imperial Majesty, I…”
“Arrogant.”
At Gerard’s voice, Kelita blinked her eyes.
“Dare you question my words?”

“I’m sorry, Your Imperial Majesty.”
To suddenly demand a marriage promise from Kelita, who had already refused the engagement twice—
It was a bewildering situation.
But she was, after all, Kelita—the emperor’s obedient and beautiful younger sister.
A bright smile spread across Kelita’s lips.
“Don’t worry. I won’t disappoint you, Your Imperial Majesty.”
Gerard and Lione were satisfied with her demeanor.
Smiles also bloomed on the lips of those nearby—the maids, members of the royal guard, and others.
“How can Princess Kelita be so beautiful?”
“Isn’t their sibling bond just wonderful to behold?”
It was a picture-perfect scene.
Just as it had been the day before yesterday and again yesterday,
the imperial household of the Periat Empire was once more utterly peaceful today.
Lakrahan stood in the center of the room, waiting for Bercheria.
She entered after him, closing the door carefully behind her.
“Have you come to give me your answer regarding my proposal?”
“Something like that.”
“Then let me hear your answer first.”
“Hmm.”
Lakrahan looked at her, standing with one foot planted crookedly.
Her face strained to appear calm, yet she couldn’t hide her tightly clenched hands, tense eyelids, or lips nervously bitten in anxiety.
Right now, she desperately needed his help.
Of course, Lakrahan himself was just as desperate for her abilities.
He wanted his people to stop starving to death, and Bercheria was the only one who could solve it.
“Before I give my answer, there’s something I must hear.”
At this moment, he was the one who wanted it most—and that had been true from the very beginning.
“How you’ve lived all this time.”
But that’s not how negotiations work.
You hide your cards and wait until your opponent reveals theirs first.
You must exercise patience and steer this situation to your advantage.
“Just who were you with that made you abandon your duties as a goddess? I want you to tell me everything.”
“Why should I tell you that?”
Lakrahan pulled his lips into a smile.
“If you don’t speak, the threat you started will simply vanish as if it never happened.”
“…”
Bercheria’s eyes hardened.
His face—flawlessly handsome from eyes to nose to lips—was endlessly infuriating.
‘Why did I have to regain my powers right beside this man of all people?’
She knew resentment was useless. She also knew this man was her only hope.
And it seemed he had no intention of giving her even a moment to think.
“Didn’t I already say? If you stall for time, there will be no next chance.”
“Hey!”
Bercheria stepped forward abruptly, blocking his path as he walked away.
“Do you really plan to keep acting so recklessly?”
“How amusing. Even if you make me angry, there will be no next chance.”
“You really…!”
Her wide golden eyes blazed fiercely, as if ready to swallow his calm black ones whole.
“Don’t you dare assume I have no recourse.”
“…?”
Bercheria tilted her head slightly, one corner of her lips lifting gracefully.

“If you walk out like this, I won’t stop this rain.”
“What rain…!”
Kaboom!
A tremendous clap of thunder echoed from the sky.
Immediately after, the sound of rain pouring down as if to shatter the castle filled the entire room.
“Not until not a single one of your people remains.”
Bercheria’s voice overlaid the scene with an eerie chill.
“This rain will not cease.”
Rainwater streaming down the window cast shadows across Bercheria’s cheeks.
The rain from the past few days had already been frightening in its volume, but now it was several times worse.
At this rate, a flood could erupt in mere minutes.
Against the backdrop of rain that sounded as if it would demolish the entire castle, the two locked eyes fiercely.
Finally, a muscle twitched sharply along Lakrahan’s jaw.
“Is this Bercheria’s true nature?”
“That’s hardly something a human who dared threaten a god should say.”
“I have no desire to revere a god who abandoned and fled from humanity.”
“Hey! I—”
In an instant, red flames flared in Bercheria’s eyes.
“I’ve never betrayed humanity, nor have I ever abandoned and fled from them!”
Lightning flashed violently outside the window.
As if expressing her fury in her stead.
“It was humanity that truly abandoned me.”
Lakrahan’s eyebrows twitched.
Abandoned by humans?
Did she think she’d been forsaken by them?
“You said you wanted to know how I’ve lived?”
Words she’d never imagined uttering spilled from Bercheria’s lips.
“Do you truly want to know what I’ve done all this time?”
Her golden hair rippled like waves in midair.
“If you can bear it, I’ll tell you.”
Lakrahan paused his thoughts.
“Bear it?”
“Yes.”
“This is utterly unbearable.”
He needed time to understand what had happened to this woman.
Lakrahan seized Bercheria’s hand.
In an instant, her hand sank into his palm, and his burning grip clamped painfully onto her knuckles.
“I don’t know what delusion you’re under, but after you disappeared, do you have any idea what humanity endured and how they survived?”
His calm voice rasped hoarsely from his throat.
“Don’t speak as if you never saw it.”
“…”
Bercheria’s face turned deathly pale.
It felt as if her hand were burning away.
The heat she’d felt from Lakrahan in the burning warehouse hadn’t been an illusion.
It was so intense it felt as if it would melt her flesh from the inside out.
“But you must tell me. How will you take responsibility for abandoning humanity all this time?”
Under Lakrahan’s oppressive gaze, Bercheria’s heart pounded wildly.
Her strength had not yet even returned halfway.
If she lost her reason or gave in to anger now, the weather would surely run wild again.
She had to calm herself.

“Haah.”
The thunder and lightning gradually subsided.
What Bercheria wanted wasn’t a standoff with this man.
She needed to use him as a shield, regain her strength before her mother arrived, and survive.
Only then could she atone to all the humans who had endured this land without the goddess’s protection.
“I…”
Bercheria’s dry lips were crushed against her white teeth.
Just think about surviving.
Surviving, nothing else.
Her voice settled calmly.
“I’m already being punished.”
Lakrahan’s gaze landed on her, creased with tension.
“What punishment are you receiving?”
As their eyes met, the strength slowly drained from his grip.
At the same time, the rain pounding outside the window faded until it was barely audible.
“You’ll find out in time.”
Lakrahan’s voice grew firm.
“Now.”
“…”
“Immediately.”
Bercheria squeezed her eyes shut tightly, then opened them again.
When neither side could yield, the wisest course was for each to take one step back.
“Let go of this.”
Lakrahan’s gaze fell on Bercheria’s wrist, red and swollen.
He slowly uncurled his fingers, releasing her as he spoke in a low voice.
“When everyone here learns you’re Bercheria, they’ll all begin to hate you.”
“Hate me?”
Lakrahan exhaled deeply, sweeping his disheveled black hair back from his forehead.
That single motion loosened the taut tension in the air.
“When your protection vanished, every nation on this continent invaded this land.”
“War… broke out?”
Bercheria’s shoulders trembled.
She had only anticipated that the people would suffer from the weather.
But war?
“I lost tens of thousands of knights there—my father, my older brother, and even my mother.”
His voice sank painfully, as if struggling to suppress the grief he’d kept hidden all along.

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

I’d rather die than go back.
Groovy is a bit dull, he hasn’t yet had the thought that he could just run away? Especially with his abilities, it’s not as if they’d be able to easily locate him if he hid.

I have a inkling that Lione is probably Berche’s ‘Mother’?
