Fearlessly (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 41
“Isn’t His Grace acting far too strangely these days?”
Wyatt grumbled, twitching his caterpillar-like eyebrows.
Wyatt’s eyebrows seemed especially prominent today, probably because the falling snow kept settling on them.
Timothy, who had been patrolling the castle’s outer perimeter with Wyatt in Lakrahan’s absence, gently brushed the snow off Wyatt’s eyebrows with his wrinkled hand.
For a moment, the two of them looked like a grown son and his father.
“What you say is true, Captain. Lately, we’ve certainly been seeing unfamiliar sides of His Grace, haven’t we?”
“That’s exactly what I mean. You know this too, don’t you, Mr. Steward? There’s a saying: when someone changes suddenly, it’s time for them to die.”
“Heh heh. But sending His Grace away entirely would be going too far.”
“I’m telling you, it’s not me who’s going too far—it’s His Grace! Otherwise, why would the princess have returned to the imperial palace in the dead of night without even a word?”
When the princess and her party failed to appear at mealtime, Mrs. Morgan went out herself to look for Kelita.
She caught up with a maid and her group just as they were leaving the castle and asked; they replied that Kelita had already departed from Lakrahan’s castle.
“You know better than anyone what His Grace has cared about most until now, don’t you?”
“I do.”
It was undeniable that the North remained peaceful precisely because Lakrahan maintained an appropriate distance from the imperial court.
They had suffered from natural disasters before, but at least they’d never deliberately endured hardship caused by other people.

Look at this guy. Lakrahan is so precious. Strong and pure hearted, what a combination.
Is he going to bother creating a pretext for this invasion?
Groovy is a bit dull, he hasn’t yet had the thought that he could just run away? Especially with his abilities, it’s not as if they’d be able to easily locate him if he hid.
