“Where are we going?”
Dickfur squinted his eyes and smiled.
“The problem is, if we enter the forest, we always go to the same place.”
“Ah.”
Having experienced this before, Bercheria tensed up and crouched.
And not long after, the creature she was sitting on shook its body, dropping both of them inside its nest.
“Damn it, where did she go?”
The royal guard hanging over the railing closed the window, leaving Bercheria behind.
As if that wasn’t enough, he nervously pulled the curtain shut.
The only sounds left in the room were the royal guards bustling around, as the cold breeze from the window ceased.
“Your Grace.”
From behind Lakrahan, Dylan spoke, tightening the grip on his knife.
“Where have you taken Bercheria? I saw her here just a moment ago.”
Lakrahan let out a scoff and lightly flicked away the knife that was against his neck with his fingertip.
He then turned and looked at Dylan with a condescending gaze.
“I gave her hallucinogens. To a dead woman.”
Dylan stared at Lakrahan as if he couldn’t hear.
The gaze looking up at the taller Lakrahan was openly hostile.
“Whatever methods you’ve used in the royal palace to capture innocent people may work there, but not here. Captain of the Guards, we knights don’t personally judge guilt.”
Lakrahan sighed and wiped his gaunt face.
As dried blood transferred from his face to his palm, he rubbed it onto Dylan’s uniform.
“I don’t know what you’ve learned or what beliefs you hold, but this is the North, Captain of the Guards. In my territory, I don’t create a single aggrieved person. So, use your petty tricks sparingly, understand?”
Lakrahan patted Dylan’s chest twice and left the room.
“Your Grace!”
His knights, who heard the commotion, rushed toward Lakrahan.
“Blood! Are you alright?”
Lakrahan lightly patted Wyatt’s shoulder as he passed by.
“Please cover my back.”
His footsteps were heavy as he walked down the corridor.
“Sigh.”
Every time he thought about Bercheria jumping out the window, Lakrahan felt his heart plummeting into an endless abyss.
“She’ll be back. Soon.”
Lakrahan tightly clenched his arm, which bore a scar.
In his tightly clenched fist was a ring he had yet to give to Bercheria.
As soon as he stepped into a place devoid of people, Lakrahan wiped his dry face.
Whenever he closed his eyes, the scene of Bercheria jumping out the window kept replaying.
He knew she hadn’t done it because she didn’t trust him.
Rather, she would have wanted to protect him.
Bercheria was a person who acted according to her own beliefs, and at that moment, that was her belief.
However, what Lakrahan wanted was for her to feel safe within him.
To enjoy what he offered and to be content within him.
He wanted to show a woman who had never had a fence built for herself how comfortable and pleasant it could be.
Just as children who received ample love believe that their parents’ love won’t change even when they’re not around.
“Haah…”
Between Lakrahan’s lips, gazing at a sky full of stars, a white breath burst out.
He closed his eyes and remembered the moment their lips met.
The quivering breaths and the moist touch that stuck together and then separated.
Lakrahan wanted to know all the many stories that she was hiding.
Be it difficult, painful, or even trivially joyful matters, he wanted to see Bercheria chattering away and spilling her stories.
He wanted her to understand, even a little, the feelings that made him steal a kiss, curious about her stories.
What she was thinking when their lips touched, and how he felt when Bercheria’s breath quivered.
“If you run away on your own, I can’t tell you anything.”
He wished she would listen to everything by his side.
Before becoming a divine beast, the Condor had a habit of nesting on cliffs while retaining its original features.
So, it had now flown away, leaving Bercheria and Dikfer stranded on an unescapable, towering cliff because it didn’t have wings.
Looking down, she saw the rough sea crashing and creating waves.
“Haah.”
Bercheria had jammed her palms into her armpits because she was hanging onto the railing.
The cliff was adjacent to the sea, so the wind blew fiercely.
‘It’s okay. At least it’s safe now.’
She was worried about Lakrahan whom she had left at the castle, but she thought that it would actually help him now that he didn’t have to protect Bercheria.
The sound of tapping caught her attention, and she turned her head to see Dikper diligently tidying up a corner of the nest.
“I thought it would be better to clean up the place where we’ll be.”
“I’ll help too.”
As Bercheria moved to approach, Dikper quickly raised and waved both of his hands.
“Never! Absolutely don’t come. You’ll only get in the way.”
“……Then let me know if there’s anything I can assist with.”
For the current Bercheria, it was safer to be with the deity Dikper than with humans.
Bercheria turned her gaze to the vast sea that spread out before her eyes.
The sight of the blue waves reminded her of a dream she had momentarily forgotten.
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.
The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
Notes:
1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.
2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
