Jen asked incredulously, chin in hand.
‘Honestly, Mrs. Saint didn’t ask in such a way. But it’s true she asked me to be supportive.’
Deborah smiled subtly and began to speak.
“Yes. Mrs. Saint is a kind person.”
Thinking to herself, Deborah resolved to act without conscience. For Dia’s happiness, and for everyone’s happiness, she decided to act shamelessly.
“Fine,” Jen said, clenching his fist. His veins bulged from the pressure.
“But what’s this about not committing any wrongdoing?”
Deborah’s pupils quivered slightly.
She had pondered a lot while writing that part. The sentence itself was too blatant.
Yet, it was an essential matter.

The appearance of another woman bearing a child was the crucial factor in Dia leaving him, though not the only one.
Thus, she dared to write it, but pointing it out like this was unexpected.
‘I can’t just say you will do such things in the future.’
Deborah swallowed her tension and carefully explained, hoping for a smooth resolution.
“I can’t work for an immoral family as I am a person of faith.”
“Hah. So, this means don’t cheat, right? What do you take people for?”
Jen’s face turned ferocious like an angry leopard.
Yes. In Deborah’s known future, a dramatic incident occurs where a woman claims to be pregnant with Jen’s child. But, in fact, this event hasn’t happened yet. So, it was natural for Jen to be upset.
‘What to do now. I can’t tell him he will do such things in the future.’
Deborah swallowed her nervousness and slowly explained.

“I’m not doubting your morals, Mr. Baker. It’s just to be sure. It’s like being concerned whether I will truly receive the 500 crowns per month you’ve offered, even though I know you have the means to pay, until I officially sign the employment contract.”
“Aha. So, you’re not officially employed yet. That’s why you blabbered about leaving.”
Jen smirked and crossed his arms. Being the male protagonist, even a simple action like crossing his arms made the fabric wrapped around his biceps stretch tautly, as if it might tear.
“It wasn’t exactly in that sense.”
‘Not really…’
Jen silently stared at Deborah standing before him.
Her hands delicately clasped together, a serene smile like an autumn breeze on her face, she looked as confident as the real owner of this place.
Jen didn’t dislike this sight. Apart from her mention of ‘Dia,’ a separate issue altogether.
‘It’s somewhat amusing.’
In fact, Jen’s reunion with Deborah was thanks to Dia. If he hadn’t recruited a maid for Dia, they might never have met again in their lives.
Yet, Jen felt uncomfortable and displeased every time Dia’s name came up in Deborah’s presence, even though Deborah herself seemed unaffected.

‘Anyways, she dislikes anything unscrupulous.’
Whether Deborah was truly pious or not was unknown, but Jen knew from the start that she was someone who greatly disapproved of such things.
He also knew that if Dia was around him, Deborah wouldn’t even glance his way. No matter how beautiful and precious the offerings, or how lovingly he spoke, she would look at him with disgust.
‘So, not now.’
Jen couldn’t dismiss Dia right away. He hadn’t yet convinced Mrs. Saint.
Also, Mrs. Saint, capable of being ruthless for revenge, might react unpredictably if she found out that Jen was discarding the ‘Dia’ card because of Deborah.
Even if she favored Deborah, she might still endanger her.
‘I can’t let Deborah face even the slightest danger.’
Thus, Jen needed to quickly show Mrs. Saint convincing progress and, furthermore, complete his revenge.
Only then could he ensure he wouldn’t lose the woman before him.
The woman who still seemed like an illusion, making him instinctively want to reach out, forcing him to clench his fists to resist the urge.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
