Throughout the journey, Jen wondered how he could feed Debora well.
He wanted to sit her on his lap and feed her directly.
Even if Jen acted like he was crazy, Debora probably wouldn’t open her mouth.
‘Anyway.’
Dia looked up and saw Jen’s profile, his smile slipping away.
Then, as if he might have felt her gaze, he quickly lowered his eyes. Her heart fluttered.
‘It feels too close.’
It was as if her heart was restless, just like when she was in his arms. They weren’t even that close right now, so why was this happening?
‘Ah.’
Perhaps it was because of Jen’s cologne scent. From his body, born in the warm mansion of the city, there was somehow the fragrance of a snowy forest. Now, that scent was subtly spreading in the carriage.
So, she continued to feel as if she were embraced in his arms.
“Um, excuse me.”
Wanting to stop these strange thoughts, Dia called Jen.
“What?”
Jen’s blunt reply came back. Strangely, though, his voice didn’t feel as cold as before.
“…When will the party end?”
Looking out the window, Jen raised an eyebrow.
“The party will probably end at midnight, but we’ll be back soon.”
“Yes…”
“And I’ll tell you in advance.”
Jen’s head turned back to Dia. His golden eyes shone vividly in the darkness.
“You might end up being alone. I don’t plan to leave you alone for a long time, but in any case, I hope you endure it well.”
Recalling Debora’s earnest request, Jen unexpectedly made a kind and earnest plea.
“Yes.”
Hearing Dia’s response, Jen looked out the window again. Dia silently placed her hand on her chest.
Her heart, pounding wildly, just wouldn’t calm down.
Dia thought there wouldn’t be a mansion more beautiful than the Baker Mansion.
Indeed, the Baker Mansion was more splendid than mansions owned by most nobles.
However, it couldn’t be compared to the Delta Marquis’s mansion they arrived at.
“Let’s go.”
Offering his hand, Jen said to Dia, who was swallowing dry saliva while looking at the brightly lit mansion.
Dia remembered Debora.
‘Straighten your posture, lift your head.’
Controlling her emotions, Dia extended her hand to Jen, who took it and made a fist bump.
Dia knew it was a natural course of action, yet her face flushed.
At the entrance, when Jen handed the invitation to the footman, the footman examined it with a serious expression.
“I’ll guide you.”
It was extremely rare for the footman to guide directly. However, the reason he did so for Jen was because of orders from Bellus.
The footman found Bellus, who shone like a jewel in the crowded party venue, as if looking for him among the multitude.
“I’ve brought them.”
Bellus, pretending not to hear the footman’s voice, passed by with his head lowered.
“What is it? I thought you’d come quickly.”
Smiling broadly, Bellus extended his hand.
“I apologize. I deliberately came late, thinking there would be many people to greet Delta.”
“If you can’t say anything…”
With a low laugh, Bellus, looking at Dia, spoke with a sneer.
“Is this the Earl of Blaise?”
“Yes.”
Bellus gently bowed his head and greeted.
“It’s an honor to meet you, Earl of Blaise.”
Dia, as practiced hundreds of times, held the hem of her dress and bowed her head.
“Thank you for the invitation.”
“I was curious who had taken the man’s side, and it turns out to be such a beautiful lady. Mr. Baker, I envy you.”
Bellus extended his hand. Dia calmly placed her hand, and Bellus kissed it on top of the silk glove.
“Hoho. I’d like to say, let’s raise our glasses with champagne, but considering that my grandfather will be leaving soon.”
“I arrived too late.”
“Well, no, the timing was good. It’s much better to greet at the end than when people are crowded, don’t you think?”
Bellus took the lead, and Jen and Dia followed slowly.
People’s gazes turned towards Bellus, and then to the two following him. Dia consciously lifted her head to avoid their stares.
“Ah, Jen. Still sticking around.”
Suddenly stopping and muttering in annoyance, Bellus quickly composed himself and said,
“Viscount Bain. You’re still here.”
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.
The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
Notes:
1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.
2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
