Her body felt light, so light that it felt like she was flying rather than walking.

Yet, the ground under her feet was so cold that it seemed to freeze her skin, and the howling wind was biting.

Somewhere, she heard the sound of sorrowful sobbing. Helena soon realized that the person crying was herself, specifically, her younger self.

“Seeing your face makes me so angry I can’t stand it! How can you not do even that simple task right? Just sitting and keeping watch is that hard for you?! Don’t even think about coming inside tonight!” Matilda had shouted harshly before slamming the door. Young Helena slumped against the shabby outer wall, with red liquid trickling from her forehead.

“I’m coming, I’ll be there, just wait, wait for me…” she mumbled between sobs, her words garbled by her crying.

“I promised, I have to find you…”

While trying to listen more closely, the surroundings began to ripple. Distorting severely and merging into one point, she suddenly felt a weight on her body.

‘…Was it a dream?’

After several attempts, Helena barely managed to open her eyes.

The first sensation upon crossing the boundary from dream to reality was an overwhelming heaviness. Her body creaked, her head throbbed, and it took considerable time to move her muscles at will.

When she finally regained her senses, she saw a man beside her. It was the same man she had last seen at the beach.

“Are you conscious? How do you feel?”

He was unchanged. Still with an anxious face and voice, behaving as if he were her lover.

“The doctor said there’s no danger to your life, but advised you to rest for a day or two. However, if you feel any discomfort, let me know at any time. I’ll call the doctor right away.”

Helena swallowed, trying to suppress the discomfort in her chest. His tender voice was irritating. Too kind, too irritating.

Instead of responding, she turned her gaze to the ceiling. The wallpaper, typical of inns, was plain and uninteresting, but she just lay there staring at it.

Her clothes should have been wet, but she felt no dampness. Slowly lifting her arm, she saw deep green linen fabric. It wasn’t what she had been wearing.

This, too, was too kind and irritating. She could only scoff.

“Feeling proud of yourself for saving the life of someone stupid enough to throw it away?”

Finally, Helena weakly sat up with a groan. Ian extended his hand to help, but she harshly pushed it away.

Before he could say anything, her anger erupted.

“You must feel like you’ve done something good, proud of yourself. ‘I saved a precious life,’ ‘My altruism saved this ignorant woman.’ Isn’t that right?”

Ian remained silent, not reacting to her accusations.

“Rest. I’ll bring you some medicine.”

He turned away with a dim expression.

Helena roughly threw off the covers and stepped out of the bed.

Standing up too quickly made her legs weak, and a dizzy spell hit her, but she clenched her teeth and endured it.

After staggering a few steps, Ian turned around just in time to catch her as she almost fell.
The recoil made Ian’s body slightly move backward, bumping into the bedside table and causing a bottle of pills to fall.

In the midst of the silence, pills spilled out from the rolling bottle on the floor.

Helena grabbed Ian’s collar tightly and began to shout.

“Nothing goes my way. Who are you to save my life as you please? Did you expect me to be grateful for saving me? I’m struggling even to breathe, I’m tired and in pain from everything. Because of your ignorant kindness, do I have to keep on living forcibly? Can’t I even decide my own life?”

“You shouldn’t get up so suddenly. It’s bad for your body. Please go back to bed.”

Ian’s gentle admonition didn’t stop her outburst of words.

“I never asked to be saved. I definitely didn’t want to wake up after failing to die. You should have left me like everyone else. Then, it wouldn’t have been this miserable. It’s even more painful knowing that a complete stranger, not a family member or husband, saved me…”

Tears blurred her vision, and Helena had to swallow hard several times to control her emotions.

She was angry. She couldn’t cry; it would be too foolish.

In the taut atmosphere, Ian calmly reassured her.

“It’s okay. You can resent me as much as you like.”

Helena found his untroubled tone irritating, and it seemed he intended to continue being so.

“But I’m not sorry. I don’t want to regret it. And still, I don’t hate you.”

Helena, unable to understand his words, lifted her head, which had been sinking. Her disheveled hair obstructed her view, but she clearly saw his face.

He truly wasn’t sorry.

He didn’t get angry at her for getting upset even after he had saved her.

He just reached out to support her waist, solid and unshaken.

She was the one getting more infuriated at his steadfast demeanor. She couldn’t bear the relentless kindness.

Her fingers, clutching Ian’s collar, were white with the force she exerted.

“How much more plainly do I need to speak for you to understand? There are people for whom living is hell. You haven’t saved a person; you’ve killed them.”

Cold Male Lead Became My Clingy Husband (Female-Dominant)

Feng Bai Su transmigrated into a matriarchal novel, becoming the sister of the female protagonist and the Seventh Princess of the Feng Ling Kingdom.

After working herself to death in her previous life, finally reincarnating as a princess, she only wanted to be a lazy fish who could eat, sleep, and play.

Until she met the male protagonist from the book, Wei Jing Mo, and he took a liking to her!

Wei Jing Mo is the top young man in Feng Ling City, talented in both appearance and ability, from a prestigious family, with a cold and otherworldly appearance, a figure like the bright moon in the hearts of noble ladies. It was thought that only the most powerful and talented noble lady in Feng Ling City would be worthy of such a brilliant young man. Who knew that this young gentleman would secretly admire the infamous Seventh Princess?

Short scene 1:

Feng Bai Su looked at the young man crying like a pear blossom in the rain before her, and couldn’t help but doubt her life.

Wasn’t the male lead described as a cold and otherworldly figure in the book?

Then who was this poor little thing crying with swollen red eyes and tear-stained face?

Short scene 2:

Wei Jing Mo stared intently at Feng Bai Su who was about to go out, wanting to say, “Be careful on the road.”

Before he could speak, Feng Bai Su suddenly bent down and bit his cheek.

Her peach blossom eyes were full of disdain: “Tsk! You’re so clingy!”

Wei Jing Mo: “…”

A talented fox spirit female lead with a flirtatious appearance but actually abstinent VS A cold-looking but actually naive and clingy little jealous male lead
