It felt like her breath was going to stop.
His eyes, deep blue like the vast ocean, seemed to have a strong pull, capturing Sehee’s attention.
Frozen like a statue under his gaze, Sehee couldn’t move.
Kyle’s eyebrows twitched as he observed her motionless state.
Finally, Sehee’s mind began to slowly untangle from the spell of his movements.
What was she doing just now?
Embarrassment flushed her entire body.
The reddening of Sehee’s cheeks was blatantly obvious to Kyle.
“Are you feeling unwell?”
Kyle stood up from his seat.

“No, no, don’t come closer.”
Sehee reflexively raised her hand, stopping him.
Kyle displayed a markedly displeased expression at her reaction.
“I don’t like that attitude.”
His voice dropped coldly.
“It seems an hour won’t be enough. I’ll need more time to actively find a way to take responsibility.”
Flustered, Sehee spoke formally as if reporting to a superior and abruptly stood up.
“Ha. Are you going to prepare a PowerPoint presentation or something?”
Kyle’s brow furrowed.
“No… I just need more time to think. And I feel like I’m disturbing your work. I’ll go first. Thank you for the meal today. I keep receiving your help.”

Sehee’s speech sped up.
Kyle had already figured out Sehee’s habits from their few encounters.
Even when they were trapped in the hatch, Sehee had chattered non-stop in an attempt to hide her fear.
“You’re hiding something.”
Kyle sharply caught onto Sehee’s current state, similar to that time.
“Huh?”
Sehee was taken aback.
She involuntarily swallowed dryly.
Did he notice something?
Did he realize she was too engrossed in looking at him?

Was she supposed to confess that she was momentarily entranced by him?
“There’s nothing I’m hiding. I didn’t think about anything.”
Sehee fled the private room as if escaping.
Left alone after Sehee’s abrupt departure, Kyle was perplexed.
“What exactly?”
He chuckled incredulously, looking at the laptop and pile of documents in front of him.
Back in her room in a flurry, Sehee was lost in thought.
She couldn’t remember anything about the previous night, no matter how hard she tried.
Could a person really forget so cleanly?
But fortunately, Kyle didn’t seem negative about her asking for more time.

Or perhaps, it was because she left without hearing his answer.
Sehee felt frustrated with the ambiguity of the sensitive man’s attitude.
Would a good night’s sleep bring back her memory?
She needed her memory to come up with a way to take responsibility.
Deciding to go to bed early to recall her memory, Sehee lay down.
Hoping that maybe it would naturally come back to her over time, she closed her eyes, but only sighs came out.
While Sehee lay awake all night, the Decoña cruise ship finally arrived at Crete, Greece, by dawn.
The bright Mediterranean sun inevitably found its way into Sehee’s bedroom.
Waking up to the bright sunlight, Sehee groggily got out of bed.
Having only fallen asleep at dawn, she felt tired from the accumulated fatigue.

Crete, today’s port of call, was one of the places she had always wanted to visit.
It felt like her breath would stop.
His eyes, deep and endless like the ocean, seemed to possess a strong pull, holding Sehee captivated.
Caught in his gaze, Sehee froze like a statue.
Kyle’s eyebrows twitched as he watched her motionless.
Finally, Sehee’s mind slowly began to unfreeze from his mesmerizing movements.
What was she doing?
Sehee felt her entire body flush with embarrassment.
The reddening of her cheeks was clearly visible to Kyle.
“Are you feeling unwell?”
Kyle stood up from his seat.

“No, no, don’t come near me,” Sehee said, reflexively raising her hand to stop him.
Kyle appeared visibly annoyed by her reaction.

Flustered, Sehee spoke in a stiff manner and abruptly stood up.
“Ha. Are you going to make a PowerPoint presentation or something?” Kyle’s brow wrinkled.
“No… it’s not that. I just think I need more time to think. And I feel like I’m disturbing your work. I’ll leave first. Thank you for the meal today. I’ve only been receiving help from you.”
Sehee’s speech quickened.

Even when they were trapped together, Sehee had chattered non-stop to hide her fear.
“You’re hiding something,” Kyle sharply noticed Sehee’s current behavior.
“Huh?” Sehee stiffened.
Swallowing dryly, she wondered if he had noticed anything.
Did she stare at him too long and give herself away?
Was she supposed to admit that she had been momentarily entranced by him?
“There’s nothing I’m hiding. I didn’t think about anything,” Sehee said, and then quickly left the private room as if escaping.
After Sehee’s sudden departure, Kyle was left alone, bewildered.
“What exactly?”
He laughed incredulously, looking at his laptop and the stack of documents in front of him.

When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
