Through the rain pouring as if a hole had been torn in the black night sky, a black carriage bearing no insignia arrived at the Grand Duke’s estate.

The carriage door opened, and Duke Greco stepped out with a dark expression.

Moments later, a shimmering magic circle rippled, and Lord of the Magic Tower Ricarion revealed himself.

“You came too?”

The duke frowned as he looked at his exhausted son. Foolish boy.

He’d rolled up his sleeves, declaring he’d personally treat five hundred of the unconscious patients housed in the Magic Tower—half of them. Hadn’t he said his reason was simply to see the Duchess smile brightly again? What a hopeless fool.

The butler-in-chief and Captain Leo, who had been waiting, held umbrellas over the duke and the Lord of the Magic Tower and led them toward the conference room.

“It’s been a long time, Your Grace. Lord of the Magic Tower.”

Shabelle Allery, who had been sitting alone with her chin resting on the table, rose gracefully and bowed politely toward the duke.

“His Grace will be down shortly. The healing session took longer than expected.”

“Was His Highness injured?”

Duke Greco asked in alarm, but Shabelle quickly shook her head.

“No. Not His Highness—it was Her Highness—”

Ricarion, startled, turned to Shabelle.

“Was Her Highness injured? Was it at the Swan Palace?”
