“Ugh, it’s heavy.”

I sank down onto the floor for a moment. I’d bought so much food at the market that both my hands were full.

Should I eat some to lighten the load?

I pulled out a plump, round green plum.

“Can you even eat raw green plums?”

I quickly rubbed the plum on my clothes and popped it straight into my mouth. In that instant, my vision flashed white.

“Aaah!”

I spat it right back out. The sourness wouldn’t fade from my mouth.

“Ugh, I should take this back to the palace and make jam. There’s no way I can eat it raw.”

Frowning, I took out a strawberry and popped it into my mouth. Only the sweet strawberry scent finally chased away the lingering sourness.

Right there, I devoured several strawberries in no time.

As I sat watching butterflies flutter by, swinging my legs, I suddenly wondered how things were back at the palace.

“Is everyone worrying a lot? Surely they’re not all out searching for me? Not even Idrish joining the search… Nah. That’s impossible. I left a note, after all. Idrish would know I’ll return safely.”

While swinging my legs idly, my stomach let out a loud gurgle.

“Hungry again? Maybe it’s because I’ve been out and about for the first time in ages—why does my stomach keep growling so much today?”
