Idrish neatly arranged my hair again. The corners of his lips seemed to lift slightly.

“It tickles, your hair.”

With those words, Idrish turned over on the bed and suddenly pulled me into a tight embrace.

I squeezed my eyes shut.

The warmth of his body, almost hot to the touch, his deep masculine scent, and the thick arms wrapping around me.

I was dizzy with overwhelming tension and excitement, but I didn’t have the courage to break free from his embrace and face him again.

I just hoped my heart wouldn’t burst, staying perfectly still as sweat soaked the skin pressed against him.

After a short rest in Central, we headed straight for Robero’s territory.

Riding the train was nice, but traveling by carriage was also good. The best part was stopping the carriage at mealtime to eat packed lunches. It felt like having a picnic three times a day.

“Wow, it’s a flower field here!”

While Mogus set up the meal, I looked around. The untouched flower field was astonishingly dense with blooms.

Every time the wind blew, white wildflowers swayed gently, rustling softly.

“Idrish! Come here quick and see this.”

“No way.”
