After failing ten times, Irene lowered her head in disappointment.

Carlos, who had been silently watching, moved behind Irene.

Then, he gently wrapped his hand around the hand holding the dart.

Surprised by the sudden contact, Irene tensed up.

“You need to grip the barrel of the dart; don’t hold the wings or the tip.”

Carlos began to instruct Irene on how to grip the dart and even the stance to adopt. Irene relaxed and listened carefully.

“When you throw, snap your wrist and keep it straight…”

Following Carlos’s instructions, Irene threw her eleventh dart.

Pop!

The blue balloon she hit burst with a cheerful sound.

At the same time, Irene’s eyes widened.

Did I…hit that?

“You hit the 10-point balloon. Congratulations, Miss.”

Receiving additional confirmation from the merchant, Irene beamed up at Carlos.

“Did you see that? I hit it!”

“……”

“I hit it! I hit the balloon!”

Carlos looked at her somewhat bewildered, seeing her this excited for the first time.

“Ah…!”

Caught up in the excitement of hitting a balloon for the first time, Irene suddenly realized she was talking to Carlos and quickly closed her mouth.

Even though I was excited, to bounce around like this in front of him.

Thankfully, Carlos didn’t look displeased; otherwise, she would have run away screaming.

Still, her neck blushed in embarrassment.

“……”

Thinking of asking her why she’s so embarrassed, but deciding not to ask anything right now seemed the best approach for Carlos.

“Think you can throw well now?”

Instead, he asked something else, and Irene nodded her head vigorously.

You probably think you don’t need me anymore, I suppose.

Carlos swallowed his slightly bitter emotions and stepped back.

Facing the balloons again, Irene took a strong stance and threw another dart, recalling what Carlos had taught her.

Yet, the dart she threw veered off right in front of the target.

Pop!

It clearly did not hit—why did the balloon burst?

Both Irene and the merchant were puzzled, looking down at the burst balloon.

“Why did this suddenly burst?”

“It burst because it was hit by the dart.”

Carlos answered nonchalantly but shamelessly, then turned to Dewey and Deus.

“Both of you saw that balloon get hit by the dart, right?”

“Yes, we saw it.”

“I saw it too.”

Jessie also energetically raised her hand to join in.
“I saw it too, I saw it! That balloon definitely popped because it was hit by the dart!”

Zherdin, who had been quietly observing the scene, clicked his tongue.

The balloon had burst not because the dart’s needle touched it, but because Carlos had used his power.

Zherdin, knowing what Carlos’s ability was and being a magician himself, clearly witnessed the moment.

However, neither Irene, an ordinary person, nor the merchant saw anything.

“That’s right.”

Naive Irene believed what others said without questioning.

“It definitely didn’t hit…”

The merchant, who had been in business for years, was certain that it hadn’t hit and was about to protest.

But the moment he met Carlos’s purple eyes—

“…”

Realizing Carlos’s identity, the merchant couldn’t even make a peep.

Even after that, balloons kept bursting without the darts touching them, but the merchant still said nothing.

On the other hand, Irene was thrilled and kept throwing darts.

The dart box emptied in no time, but Jessie refilled it so she could continue.

“I won this!”

Irene proudly showed off the hairpin she received as a prize after popping all the balloons on the panel.

“Good job.”

Carlos briefly praised her.

“You’re amazing, Miss!”

“Awesome!”

“Wow, Miss, you’re incredible.”

Duey, Jessie, and Zherdin congratulated her, albeit somewhat exaggeratedly.

“This gem, it’s actually a mermaid’s tear.”

Jessie softly marveled as he examined the blue gem attached to the hairpin.

“Usually prizes like this are fake. What’s the deal?”

Duey responded.

“They probably didn’t expect anyone to score 400 points.”

“True.”

If not for Carlos’s help, Irene would never have scored 400 points.

“Is this gem a mermaid’s tear?”

When Irene asked, Jessie kindly answered.

“Yes. It’s a gem that can be mined at the beach. It’s called a mermaid’s tear because it resembles the shape of a tear. It has a special meaning.”

“A special meaning?”

“Yes. A mermaid’s tear is quite durable and doesn’t break easily, but if it does, someone you want to see will come to you.”

I see, thought Irene as she looked at the hairpin.

If it’s a meaningful item, it might be better to give it as a gift to someone else.

The person I want to see… can never come.

So, who should I give it to?

Irene’s gaze naturally drifted to Carlos.

He taught me how to throw darts, so it would be fitting to give it to him, right?

I’ve also received lots of other help…

Although it was a feminine hairpin, Irene decided to offer it anyway.

“This is a gift.”

Carlos then frowned and asked,

“Are you asking me to put that in my hair?”

“……!”

Irene’s mouth dropped open at the thought of Carlos wearing the hairpin.

“…”

Seeing Irene’s reaction, Carlos realized something was wrong and closed his mouth.

Regaining her composure, Irene looked down and fiddled with the pin.

Looking at Carlos’s face might bring back those strange imaginations, so she couldn’t dare.

“It’s not that, Your Grace. I’ve received so much from you that I wanted to give you something…”

So Irene spoke hesitantly without looking directly at Carlos.

“They say if a mermaid’s tear breaks, someone you want to see will come to you. Maybe it’ll help if you keep it…”

Irene, who had been rambling, looked up in confusion when Carlos took the hairpin.

“I appreciate the sentiment.”

Carlos brushed aside Irene’s disheveled hair and pinned the hairpin there.

“You should keep it. It suits you better.”

Ex-husband Wants Reconciliation

One-line summary: Chasing the wife to the crematorium (making an effort to attract someone who has become indifferent), the female lead doesn’t look back, the second male lead takes the position.

Intro:

To repay the kindness of the older generation, Su Mu crossed into a female-dominated world and became a live-in daughter-in-law of the Yan family, single-handedly saving the Yan family from fire and water.

But her husband, Yan Jiyue, the eldest son of the Yan family, treated her with sarcasm and never showed her a good face.

It wasn’t until after Su Mu’s death that this pampered and arrogant young master shed a few fake tears and pretended to want to die for love.

This life’s kindness was enough. If there was a next life, she would definitely kick Yan Jiyue away.

Who knew that the heavens would be so kind as to allow her to be reborn, returning to the time when she had just married into the Yan family.

Su Mu glanced at the Yan eldest son, who still spoke coldly to her, and threw a divorce letter in front of him.

“Let’s divorce!”

***

Yan Jiyue never imagined that he would be reborn. He happily went to find Su Mu, wanting to make up for the mistakes he had made in his ignorant youth.

Wasn’t the reason the heavens allowed him to be reborn to let him reconcile with Su Mu?

But when he pushed open the door to Su Mu’s room, the person lying on the bed was another man.

Su Mu’s personal attendant, Xie Yi.

Yan Jiyue hated him so much that his teeth itched. In front of Su Mu, Xie Yi was a gentle and considerate whisperer of sweet nothings, but in reality, he was vicious-hearted and deliberately sabotaged their husband and wife relationship.

In the previous life, it was he who secretly hid in Su Mu’s coffin and committed suicide, stealing a step ahead of him to be buried with Su Mu.

Yan Jiyue’s eyes were filled with hatred as he cursed, “What kind of thing are you? Your background is lowly, what right do you have to occupy Su Mu?”

Xie Yi looked at the sleeping Su Mu and no longer pretended to be a whisperer of sweet nothings.

He proudly stuck out his belly, “I have the right because my belly is capable of giving the Wife-master a daughter.”

***

Yan Jiyue was consumed with jealousy. He spread rumors that Xie Yi had once been branded with the mark of a “harlot” on his chest.

But on the night Xie Yi cut off the flesh bearing that mark, Su Mu suddenly realized something was amiss.

“How did you know the exact moment I was poisoned? And why did you show up a month early?”

Xie Yi remained silent, blood from his wound soaking through his robes. His sapphire eyes brimmed with anguish – or was it just a flawless act?

Between a once-arrogant husband now seeking redemption, and a gentle soul willing to die for her – who truly held the darkest secrets? And could it be that Su Mu and Yan Jiyue weren’t the only ones given a second chance at life…?
