Carlos immediately had his faithful servant and butler, Dewey, find the drawing room when he heard that he was being fitted for clothes.

They remeasured Carlos’s size and chose the fabric and design.

Carlos, eager to escape from this annoying situation, quickly finished, but Irene had not chosen a single outfit yet.

“Miss, how about this?”

“No, this fits better!”

“…….”

There were too many options, and all were overly beautiful for her, so she hesitated, not knowing which to choose.

Irene wanted help from others, but Jessie did not assist, thinking it best for her to choose her own clothes.

The dressing room staff were each clamoring that the outfit they made was the best, so no help was available.

Then the only people left were Dewey and Carlos.

As Dewey was busy with Carlos’s clothes, it was accurate to say that only Carlos was left.

‘Should I ask about this?’

Irene rolled her eyes to look at Carlos, who was sitting next to her.

Just then, their eyes met, as he was also looking at Irene.

Irene was startled and tried to turn her head, but Carlos asked before she could.

“Do you have something to say to me?”

What to do. Should I speak or not? As Irene pondered, she remembered something Carlos had said.

If you have something to say, don’t hesitate to say it.

“Umm…which outfit should I choose?”

If Carlos had remained intimidating and frightening, she would have kept her mouth shut, even after saying that.

But now she had somewhat adapted, and knowing that Carlos wouldn’t get angry for asking this, Irene was able to speak up.

Then Carlos looked at the clothes the dressing room staff were holding.

As the choice was given to the monarch, the employees all tensed and swallowed dryly.

Everyone holding their breath, waiting for Carlos’s choice.

He looked seriously at the dresses, knowing that everyone expected him to choose, but ultimately he couldn’t pick one.

He didn’t know which to choose. He had never chosen a woman’s outfit in his life, so there was no way to know.

The solution to this problem was truly simple.

“Let’s purchase them all.”

What did this man just say? Irene’s eyes widened in disbelief.

“Understood.”

In contrast, Dewey answered calmly. The faces of the dressing room staff, including the madam, beamed like a full moon.

“No, no!”

Regaining her wits, Irene quickly stopped Carlos.

“We don’t need to buy them all! Just one, only one is enough!”

Carlos looked at Irene with puzzled eyes.

“Is one outfit really enough?”

“Well……two?”

As Irene cautiously corrected herself, Carlos let out a faint laugh.

“I never knew that two outfits were many.”

At his seemingly mocking expression and tone, Irene blushed and looked down.

A careless yet low voice resonated above her head.

“Winters in Esper territory tend to be longer than other places, so it would be good to have plenty of winter clothes.”

Irene lifted her head again.

“But this is still too much.”

“Not at all. This much is good to have.”

“But…….”

“It’s a gift, so there’s no need to refuse.”

Carlos spoke firmly as he stood up, as if to say, don’t argue with me anymore.

Irene, who also stood up, looked at the clothes that the dressing room staff were arranging.

She had once read somewhere that the cost of one outfit for nobles was equivalent to a commoner’s living expenses for a year.

So when he said he would gift her all these expensive outfits, she was stunned.

She was also curious why he was treating her, whom he had just met, so well.

“Why……are you treating me so well?”

Irene not only harbored doubt but also threw a question at Carlos.

Then Carlos turned to look down at her. Irene’s eyes met his, and she tightly clenched her skirt hem. In the past, she would have avoided his gaze, but this time she met it.
An eerie silence flowed as if only two people existed in the reception room.

The first person to break the silence was Carlos.

“Think of it as sympathy.”

“Sympathy……you say?”

“Yes.”

All of this is a final sympathy for a woman who would die for me.

Carlos turned away, swallowing the words he couldn’t say yet.

Trope, having completed all preparations, applied for an audience with Carlos, but was rejected due to being busy.

“So when can we see Duke Esper?”

“Well, he’s been busy lately, so I can’t give you an exact date.”

“But……I must see Duke Esper.”

“As soon as he has time, we’ll call you, Priest, so please wait a little.”

Trope retreated for now, knowing that he couldn’t meet Carlos by forcing it.

And a butler named Dewey was supposed to call them, but two days went by without news.

Tired of waiting, Trope applied for an audience again. He thought he would be refused again, but surprisingly, he was accepted immediately.

Upon this, the priests were not happy, but frowned and grumbled.

“Playing with people is no joke, what on earth is he trying to do…….”

“Duke Esper will surely pay the price for daring to play with us, the servants of God.”

Agreeing with his fellow priests in silence, Trope suddenly noticed something strange.

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
