The moment Siya saw the teleportation magic circle opening, she immediately dashed over and hid behind the legs of His Majesty the Emperor, her godfather.

“Big sister, me too…!”

Bella, who had been playing with Icarus as if she hadn’t cried at all just moments before, quickly scurried after her sister and hid behind the godfather too.

No, that wasn’t quite right. After quietly observing for a moment, Bella clung tightly to Lu’s leg—the eldest sister. Seeing what her younger sister did, Siya wrapped both arms firmly around Hayden’s and Lu’s legs.

“Kyuuung!”

Icarus suddenly lifted his head and approached the person emerging from the teleportation circle. For a brief moment, those on this side couldn’t see who it was because Icarus blocked the view.

“Yes, hello, Icarus.”

The calm voice carried a hint of impatience. Hurried footsteps followed swiftly.

Caught off guard by everything happening so suddenly—and with two children clinging to her legs—Lu couldn’t even move away. Icarus, much larger than the old hut she used to live in, dipped his head once and then raised it again.

The woman who passed by, gently stroking the creature’s chin, appeared to be a slender beauty in her late thirties.

With deep brown hair and green eyes, she looked remarkably youthful—though in truth, she was already approaching her late forties.

“Your Majesty.”

She wore a sword at her waist and light armor over her shoulders and upper body. Spotting Hayden first—whose head stood a full head taller than others—she immediately bowed respectfully.

“Countess. Save your report for later—attend to your daughter first.”

Hayden nodded and gestured toward Lu, then tried to slip quietly backward—but hesitated. Siya was clinging desperately to one of his legs.
