Don't Be Kind Rashly (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 2
The injuries the man sustained were severe. If he were an ordinary person, his insides would have already burst, and he would be dead.
But the man, much taller than Lu and with a sturdy, solid body, was merely unconscious, not dead.
After bringing him into the cabin and struggling to treat him, Lu went outside and burned all the blood-stained clothes and the cloths used as bandages.
After cautiously checking the surroundings and returning to the cabin, Lu quietly stared at the man. What should she do with this troublesome stranger who had suddenly stumbled into her life and become her one-night companion?
“Was I seventeen back then? Or eighteen?”
As the fireplace crackled, the small cabin grew warmer. Lu gazed at the handsome man lying there, wrapped tightly in clean bandages, sleeping.
It was about the time she was deployed to the battlefield as a knight.
The battlefield of the peaceful Kaleta Empire always lay before the massive “Wall” that stretched from the northwestern mountains to the eastern sea.
Horrible monsters would emerge without warning, forcing the Imperial Knights to remain constantly on edge. As she recalled her age back then, she was startled.
“Wait, how old was the guy I slept with?”
This is crazy! How could I… with a kid like that…! Where’s my conscience? She clutched her head.
The man she saw that night at Uncle Ben’s, under that shoddy lighting, seemed a little different from the man now. Somehow, he looked fairer now.
At the same time, she suddenly recalled a terrified, refined young soldier she had met in front of the “Wall.”
He was definitely unusually handsome. He seemed promising. And didn’t he get beaten up more because of it? Maybe that’s why I took him in and looked after him?
“Crazy, this is crazy… I must be losing it, really… What do I do?”
Could he really be that kid? Did I sleep with that cute boy? No, but why would that young soldier be here? It can’t be him! No way! Lu, now on the verge of tears, tugged at her hair and turned her head again.
“…Did he end up like me? No, that’s impossible.”
Nonsense. Lu let out a scoff.
It’s unlikely that someone like her, whose once-masterful swordsmanship had deteriorated and who could no longer wield magic, would be common. She carefully searched the man’s belongings, but aside from a modest amount of travel money, there was nothing.
Thanks to that, she had killed two bears, skillfully skinned their hides, and gathered some valuable byproducts. Those could fetch a good price, but what should she do with this man?
Lu closely examined the sleeping man.
“…How does someone look like this?”
More precisely, “How can someone look this good?”
His straight forehead, prominent brow bones, and the line leading to his sharp, handsome nose were distinctly masculine.
His large eyes, with faint double eyelids, full lips with a healthy flush, and above all, a strong, sharp jawline and a long, slightly thick neck. Overall, he was a strikingly handsome man, rugged yet refined, with bold features.
And his body? No need to say more. It wasn’t just good—it was exceptional, as Lu, who had slept with him, knew best.
“Ahh…”
Buried memories began to resurface. She had decided to keep last night buried forever, but after catching her breath, the embarrassing memories flooded back.
Lu.
His low, deep voice calling her name with a smile.
The man had smiled gently and kindly. He had softly stroked her face multiple times.
But wait, why were his eyes so clear in her memory? Lu whipped around to look at him again.
She had been drunk, out of her mind, clinging to the man, but his eyes didn’t have a trace of alcohol in them.
“…Does he have an insane tolerance? No, don’t think about it. Forget it. Just forget it! It was an accident!”
What’s the point of attaching meaning to a one-night fling? It was nothing but an accident, and as soon as he wakes up, she’d patch him up roughly, send him off, and take the bears as payment for his treatment.
Anyway, he had taken down two bears that were threatening the area, and since he was injured, treating him was only right. Lu covered her face with both hands.
“Living like this, I’ve done all sorts of things.”
Sleeping with a guy she met at a tavern, that same guy taking down bears and collapsing in front of her house.
After her prodigious talent, once hailed as genius, vanished overnight, ruining her entire career, this was the most bewildering thing she had ever experienced.
The beautiful townhouse she once lived in had become a shabby cabin, and the table once laden with delicacies now held only one or two crude dishes she prepared herself.
Her ceremonial uniform, once adorned with medals and honors, and her splendid dresses were all gone. Rustica Jenus’s life was now humble, lonely, and quiet.
“…I thought I’d never get entangled with a man again.”
As the woman who had lost everything fell into her usual reverie, the gray eyes that had been closed opened. They gazed at the low ceiling and the exposed wooden beams before turning to her.
“Lu.”
Through his disheveled black hair, his gray eyes curved. He barely smiled before closing them again, likely waking briefly in his weary state before falling back asleep.
The woman whose name was called stared down at him, blinked, and turned away.
“Wow…”
He’s even more handsome with his eyes open. Too striking. This is insane.
“Maybe he’s a dangerous spy sent by the Kaleta Emperor to seduce me.”
Lu shook her head vigorously to dispel the stray thoughts and headed to the kitchen. She wished the space were separate, but her tiny cabin was so cramped that a few steps brought her to the wall.
Trending
“Sigh…”
Thinking more would only give her a headache, so she decided to stop.
A sudden guest had disrupted her peaceful retired knight’s life.
As soon as the man woke again, Lu said just one thing.
“Leave once you’re healed.”
She tried not to ask anything more. She tried hard not to blush. She had to show some resolve!
“You saved me. Thank you, Lu.”
The man, who could hold his own against the roughest of men yet had fair skin, smiled.
Why does he smile so beautifully! Lu squeezed her eyes shut.
“Is this your house, Lu?”
And he was so talkative.
“Living alone? It’s cozy and nice.”
The man—no, the “overly handsome man”—kept looking around and smiling for some reason. Too cramped to be cozy, too modest to be called nice, it was just a cluttered, shabby cabin.
“Oh, are you okay?”
That wasn’t Lu’s question to him—it was his question to her.
“They say it’s harder for women…”
What is he talking about! Lu was dumbfounded.
“Your ribs and arm aren’t broken, are they?”
He smiled brightly.
“Oh, that explains why it hurts a bit.”
“…What kind of person are you?”
A flabbergasted Lu asked.
“Me?”
“Yeah, you.”
“Why me?”
“What kind of crazy person takes on a bear with just a sword? Two of them, no less.”
Maybe an Imperial Knight, but no ordinary human should do that. It was suicidal.
“Oh.”
Sunlight streaming through the small window illuminated his radiant face.
“But I met you, Lu. I was so hurt and disappointed when you left me, but I’m glad now.”
“…That was just an accident, so let’s pretend it didn’t happen.”
Lu, who had been bustling about with her back to him, felt a bad premonition and glanced back. Her face went pale.
“…Are you… crying? Why are you crying? Why do you keep crying?”
She was the one who wanted to cry! Why was this big, muscular guy crying! This was the second time already.
“Why do you call it an accident… It wasn’t for me…”
“No, I mean, adults can make mistakes when they drink, it was just careless…!”
She tried to brush it off, but he was crying. Lu broke into a cold sweat.
“It wasn’t a mistake for me… It was my first time…”
Good heavens. In an instant, Lu felt like the worst person in the world. The man, wrapped in bandages, was shedding tears with a boyish face that didn’t match his thick muscles.
“You chose me because you liked me, but you don’t even remember, and you keep trying to push me away…”
“No, I’m not pushing you away, just don’t cry! Stop!”
The crying man lifted his head and looked straight at her.
“What’s my name?”
She was speechless. How would I know that!
“See, you don’t remember.”
He lowered his head, sulking. Tears welled up in his clear eyes and fell like a painting.
“Hayden Constant Rostana Bella.”
He stated his name firmly and clearly.
“Don’t you remember?”
Lu blinked. She had no idea about such a long name.

He pursed his lips and lowered his head.
“Fine. Let’s say you forgot. Have you recently heard the name Perseita…?”
He looked at her as if to say, “You can’t not know this one.”
“First time hearing it…”
“How long have you been in this backwater?”
Lu’s shoulders shrank involuntarily.
“Four years…”
Hayden’s expression grew increasingly grave.
Lu, who had answered honestly without thinking, felt inexplicably guilty.
Half-exiled from the empire, half-fleeing to the countryside, it was only natural she was out of touch with the outside world.
Of course, news from the outside reached even this remote place, but she deliberately ignored it. She didn’t want to know anymore.
“Do you know the deputy commander of the knights changed?”
“Oh, really?”
“The Wall was breached, so it makes sense.”
Lu thought reflexively.
“But why do I feel pushed by him?”
Even if it was a story from the past, she was a genius knight from the Kaleta Empire’s elite Imperial Knights, a first-class knight who commanded in front of the Wall. There was no reason for her to be intimidated by a soft-faced guy with nothing but a good body.
Yet she was. She felt guilty, as if she’d done something terribly wrong. Maybe it was because he was crying.
“Since when have you been here? Since we parted at the Wall? Have you been here the whole four years? Is this place… nice?”
He asked very cautiously.
“Why do you want to know? It’s none of your business.”
Lu snapped back coldly, regaining her composure. She didn’t want to seem weak.
“If it’s nice, maybe I’ll settle here too.”
What?
“Why would you?”
“I’ll take responsibility for you, Lu, and you should take responsibility for me. It was my first time.”
Good heavens. He’s impossible. Lu was at a loss for words in front of the wide-eyed, arguing man.
What do I do with him? She struggled to keep her wits and managed to say,
“…Hayden. Okay. I vaguely remember your name, but that boy back then was blond.”
So there’s no way that boy is this man. That boy had a babyish, smooth face with chubby cheeks.
“Oh.”
The man, oozing masculine charm, looked at the slightly long black hair falling over his eyes.
“Crossing the Wall so much changed it.”
Lu looked up. Her expression hardened instantly.
“What do you mean, crossing the Wall?”
In this world, there were only two countries: the Kaleta Empire and its vassal states.
At the northern edge of the continent stood the “Wall.” It was said to have been built by the gods, and monsters kept emerging from it, slaughtering humans.
The Kaleta Empire had no choice but to use the massive, impassable Wall as both a border and a defensive barrier to fend off the monsters. Its vassal states, stretching from west to south, were protected.
Thanks to the Kaleta Empire, the vassal states were safe from monsters and naturally submitted to the empire.
Thus, the only war the Kaleta Empire fought was the one against the monsters in front of the Wall.
“The Wall was breached, Lu.”
The man sitting on her small bed said something outrageous with a serious face.
“The Kaleta Empire is no longer the only empire.”
The Kaleta Empire, which had expanded west and south to avoid the Wall, now had to face the karma it had accumulated in the north over the years.
“The monsters… Another war has broken out?”
Lu’s voice trembled involuntarily.
“It hasn’t yet. But who knows what’ll happen. That’s why I came to get you first, Lu.”
Hayden spoke in a soft, low voice, as if he had never been crying.
“But to think you’d use me for fun and then abandon me… Is that who you are?”
How could you? His teary, hurt look made Lu finally shout,

“Accidents happen when adults drink!”
“I have money, you know.”
“Didn’t find any when I checked. The bears you killed are worth more than the money you had.”
Trying to pull a fast one!
“See? I can make money too.”
So shameless.
“No, your treatment ate it all up. Stop talking and lie down. Your bones won’t heal.”
Lu, determined not to argue further, snapped at him, grabbed a large basket, and headed outside.
Hayden leaned his head against the pillow and stared at the door she left through with displeasure.
“…Not getting through at all. What did that emperor jerk do?”
The man who had been smiling and crying moments ago now furrowed his handsome brow.
A chill replaced the warmth in his gray eyes, and the fair-skinned handsome man’s demeanor shifted instantly.
This seemed more natural, more fitting for him.
“…Why doesn’t she remember?”
She doesn’t know him. He had been counting the days until they’d meet again, thrilled to be dragged to bed by a drunken her, only for her to change completely once sober.
Getting injured by the bears was a good move. There were no monsters around, just bears, and getting seriously hurt was tricky, but he succeeded in staying longer with Lu.
“…She’s even prettier, still so kind.”
He chuckled, then reached out as a white hawk flew to the small window. Astonishingly, the hawk passed through the window and perched on his arm along the sunlight.
“Well done finding me.”
The hawk, seeing its master bandaged, let out a small cry. It wasn’t sad—it was scolding him for faking illness.
Hayden smiled and unfolded the message the hawk brought.
“Just wait a bit… So, the emperor still hasn’t grasped the situation.”
Even as the Wall opened and the people beyond it, called “monsters,” started appearing, he still hadn’t come to his senses.
As expected. This gave Hayden more time to stay here leisurely with Lu.
“Let him be. I’m not ready to face that jerk yet either.”
Hayden, who referred to the Kaleta Empire’s emperor as “that jerk,” smiled coldly and sent the hawk back out. It passed through the window and vanished as it came.
He looked around. Everything bore Lu’s touch.
Rustica Jenus, the greatest knight and magic swordsman, stripped of everything by the emperor and still being exploited.
The man from beyond the Wall would take her from the emperor. He prepared to return to his role as a frail, injured man.

Male lead is reincarnated to save his wife
I’ve also read this one twice already. The female lead is kinda soft and gets embarrassed easily—not really my type, but the plot is definitely worth reading. Hurry up and read it, y’all!

Intro
When Shen Yuan encountered Su Jin again in his previous life, she had already become the Prime Minister of the current dynasty. As for him, the former top young master of the capital, he had long since fallen into the abyss, becoming a singer on a pleasure boat.
After a song ended, he was redeemed and sent to the Su Residence.
Su Jin respected and cherished him, gave him a roof over his head, and bestowed him with warmth. Shen Yuan fell deeper and deeper, but before he could express his feelings, Su Jin passed away.
Shen Yuan died to follow her in death, but instead, he returned to when he was fifteen years old.
At that time, he was not yet engaged, and Su Jin was just a poor scholar.
Shen Yuan gritted his teeth, casting aside all his pride, and thought of ways to coax and entice her every day.
The colder and more indifferent Su Jin was towards him, the more proactive Shen Yuan became.
He was not afraid of being mocked by the world, only wanting to marry his Wife-master early, to hold her hand and never let go for a lifetime.
[Note: This story will not specifically point out the male lead’s reincarnation time point; it’s all in the details. Whenever you feel that the male lead is acting strangely, he has most likely been reincarnated.]

I’m not sure where Lu gets the patience to deal with Hayden. He’s like a bulldozer. He seems convinced he’s helping her yet he doesn’t consider her opinions throughout it all.
