The sky is a problem, but the land below is a problem too. The number of monsters was so excessive that it was breathtaking to watch. They must have left that vast land unattended. If they had farmed, the monsters would have ruined everything.
“You don’t like it.”
To the right. Hayden mumbled cheerfully with a twirling smile. Lu was fuming, but the mad emperor who dragged the foreign diplomat to the monster wave extermination had a relaxed expression for once.
“I’m very happy right now.”
He raised his right hand instead of the sword. A beam of light appeared in the empty hand, growing longer and larger.
Seeing this, the Imperials retreated behind Icaros all at once. The dazzling light made Lu squint her eyes.
“General Rustica Gennes. Our goal is to break through the front.”
Break through the front? Lu looked at the monster flock flying in the dark. Thousands of pairs of red eyes were glaring at her.
“As long as my safety is guaranteed, I don’t care.”
“I guarantee it. You won’t be hurt even a hair.”
Hayden added to Lu, who was recalling her battle experience at the barrier.
“Always.”
Of course, she ignored his words.
“Let’s go.”
First, let’s deal with those visible ahead. The monsters, much larger than the devils and clearly having their shapes in various forms.
Lu did not handle Icaros as she would a horse. She simply patted Icaros’ shoulder a few times.
The brave griffin understood the words well enough, and like a shooting arrow, quickly flew towards the monsters.
And Hayden threw the light spear, as long as Icaros.
Bang!
Lu opened her mouth wide and watched the dazzling light explode, incinerating all the monsters in an incredible spectacle.
“The top is done, General, now below.”
The moment the second beam of light flashed beside her head, Lu immediately changed direction downwards with Icaros’ charging speed. The griffin charged towards the ground through the falling monster corpses.
The Imperials fighting on the ground flew up all at once. And the second loud noise shook the earth.
Bang!
A huge rift was created in the monster flock rushing towards human habitation. Only countless corpses were left in that rift.
Lu, who leaped again just before touching the ground, looked at the result of splitting the ground with a single attack. It was tremendous.
The cleanly swept monster corpses lay flat on the ground, and the monsters instinctively hesitated at the sight of Hayden, growling but not daring to charge.
The northern monster extermination ended in the east. In just four battles.
I understood why it ended in four attempts. Enough. Lu dumbly stared at the remaining monsters being cleaned up by the Imperiale.
Hayden’s method of solving the cause of the monster waves and sweeping away the monsters simultaneously by consuming twisted mana using a massive spell was efficient and tremendous.
That was theoretically possible, but was it actually feasible?
“A rough cleanup seems to be happening, so Genus Corporation.”
Lu suddenly wondered what would happen if this man faced Carlos. Perhaps Hayden could even kill Carlos. Once realized, the nape of her neck was already chilled.
“How does it feel to watch from the front row?”
She didn’t dare look back. Though she knew it all along, experiencing the scale and difference of power firsthand gave her a new level of understanding.
To this man, Lu was less than an ant. She only hadn’t realized it because the existence called Hayden was hiding itself. The moment she faced him directly, that alone would overwhelm her. Even the monsters instinctively understood this and didn’t come near Icarus.
“I would like to go back to the corporate office now that I’ve seen everything.”
“Ah, you’re the type to go straight home after the performance.”
Instinct told her to get away from Hayden immediately, but her body was rigid and wouldn’t move. Moreover, Icarus was now flying through the air, so there was no escape.
“Don’t you think of giving a bouquet to the hardworking actor?”
“What bouquet, at two o’clock.”
Right now, something resembling a bird but much larger and more terrifying with its mouth wide open and claws exposed passed by. Would she want to do that?
Lu calmly pointed it out while filtering her curses. As soon as Hayden reached out, the monster flying from the two o’clock direction was split in two and crashed.
It looked like it had been cleanly cut with a sword, but it didn’t seem like he had even used a sword.
‘How is he using magic, or is it pure swordsmanship? I can’t even distinguish.’
As a Genus Corporation employee, it was natural to observe and remember as much as possible, but seeing didn’t mean understanding. She had never seen anyone use magic in this way before. Would Carlos know?
“That’s too much. They’re trying their best to please your eyes. If you don’t want to give it, you can come to the waiting room and give it separately.”
“I said I won’t give it. Seven o’clock!”
Icarus, for whatever reason, found it amusing and laughed with a whirring sound among the scattered monsters. It clearly understood human speech.
Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day
It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!
This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.
The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.
Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.
If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.
It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.
The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.
In the end, everything will come together and be explained.
One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!
In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.
Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.
However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.
Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.
Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?
——
Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.
His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.
Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”
——
The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.
Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!
Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!
The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…
——
But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.
The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.
She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…
Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”
Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”
Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.
Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”
Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.
Zhu Wansheng: ?
Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…
On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.
Warm breath lingers on her neck.
“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
