Outside the wide-open window, the sound of children laughing was heard as usual today.
Every time parents came to the palace, the emperor’s maids naturally came with them and received special treatment.
Snacks that the master particularly ordered to prepare, newborn divine beasts, horseback riding and swordsmanship, and sisters and knights teaching magic. The palace was a precious and delightful place.
“In fact, I am also thinking about the succession operation.”
Hayden looked at Sia, who would become the future Duke of Halcanea and the Marquis of Flache. The children sat together, oblivious to everything, chattering about what they learned until yesterday.
“Of course, it’s a matter to be decided in consultation with the eldest daughter.”
It seems that Lu knew that the dukedom would be bestowed upon her family. So, she avoided the gathering with her siblings.
“And, wouldn’t it be good to prepare everything that can be taken care of for Bella?”
While saying so, he also subtly bestowed another marquis title on Milene Genus from the Shalea side.
Although it was a modest title compared to the number held by the Alanka Dukedom, in the future, one of the prominent noble families in the Perseta Empire should have about this much.
“I hope you accept without hesitation. I am eager to get married now.”
The southern region has also calmed down to some extent. Although there is still a long way to go, the royal wedding will play a significant role in stabilizing the turbulent country a bit more and moving towards the future.
However, the royal wedding was both a formal event and a very private matter. Hayden wanted to tidy up everything neatly before welcoming his precious bride.
Lady Freya was already busy preparing for the wedding, tirelessly touring the palace under the emperor’s orders.
“Above all, I hope the world knows how precious and valuable the bride I am bringing in is.”
Hayden smiled brightly as he said those words.
“…I will do my best, Your Majesty.”
The emperor’s intention to raise the status of the family by marrying a fiancée who was so precious and valuable could not be refused.
“Thank you, Your Majesty.”
Whether they heard those words or something happened, as the couple expressed gratitude to the emperor, cries were heard outside the window.
“I’m going to live with my sister!”
“Sister is mine!”
So, that was fine. Yes. That could happen. Because the children liked their big sister so much and wanted to be with her every second.
“Don’t marry my grandpa!”
But as soon as Hayden heard that clear voice of Sia, he laughed heartily.
“Shall we move?”
Then, leaving only that word, he flew straight out of the window. Oh my. The remaining couple, after touching their foreheads once, got up from their seats and went down below.
Lu, who used to play with the children outdoors on sunny days, was now in a difficult situation.
Bella clung to her sister and cried, soaking the entire palace, and Sia tightly held her sister’s waist and wouldn’t let go.
“Uh, don’t get married, don’t get married!”
Sia was crying so hard that her face turned red, and she even started to hiccup.
“Live in our house!”
The starting point was the educational institution in the Shalea where Sia had been going for a while.
There, noble children were being educated, following their parents who had come from various places due to the upcoming royal wedding and social events.
Hayden, who considered this institution very important, had ensured that anyone who wanted could come and learn at least one subject.
So, it was natural for Sia, a daughter of the pro-emperor faction, to attend here.
However, Sia isn’t going alone, and other nobles are attending as well, so the topic came up among the children.
Your sister is marrying the emperor?
That was fine up to that point. The problem was what came next.
So, we won’t see each other often, right? Maybe twice a year? That’s what they said.
But Sia said it wasn’t like that.
No! Our mom said so! The palace isn’t a place just anyone can go! If your sister goes, we won’t be able to see her!
I can go to the palace every day!
Don’t lie! Really, every day?
Sia wasn’t sure. It wasn’t really “every day” because, more than anything, the bigger problem was that if her sister got married, she would leave home.
When asked if it was true, her sister couldn’t keep telling her younger siblings, “My sister will always be with her younger siblings,” forever and nodded her head.
For children who naturally lived with their mom, dad, and sister, this was a shocking event.
Sia thought her sister was a little sick right now, so she was at the palace, but she thought her sister would come home soon!
“Together…”
Unable to continue speaking, cries burst out.
While they knew that someday their sister would marry the Duke, the fact that this “someday” came so close with an accurate date was different.
Her sister would become the empress, and she wouldn’t come to the west often, and there would no longer be evenings finishing meals and reading books by the fireplace or having chit-chats.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
