The young Emperor sitting in front of him does what he says. Simon Kainberg was too well aware of this, making him more uneasy.
“Considering that Calata is blocking the narrow land, it’s going to be a big problem, Your Majesty.”
Simon didn’t want to imagine how terrifying it would be when this young Emperor, who says what he means, starts going out.
“Most of the land is useless. So Carlos Ingram neatly cut off the central and southern parts.”
The Calata Empire had neatly cut off the most livable and prosperous land in Perseta. Many vassal countries were the same. Although they took less than during the Dragonlord era, it was a painful rebellion and loss for the Perseta Empire.
In the end, what remained were the western and northern regions where monsters poured out, and the slightly untouched and vast eastern and central regions.
“So we need to change it to usable land through support.”
“We can’t let the tradition continue where emperors from generation to generation personally go to fight monsters.”
The Emperor decisively cut it off, climbing the stairs quickly. If that happened, his son or daughter would have to go to battle. Let a child resembling Lu continue to fight monsters? That would be disqualification as both a father and a ruler.
“Wasting money is wasting manpower. How many nobles are present?”
“All of them are here.”
Upon hearing that most nobles had attended, Hayden raised an eyebrow.
“They’re making futile efforts to be discreet. I should lower the threshold.”
“As a loyal servant, it’s only natural to make an effort.”
Simon muttered in a gruff manner, questioning why he had to lower the threshold as he followed Hayden.
Hayden, with a head larger than most, walked through the Imperialle ranks without hesitation.
It was a moment when the young Emperor, who had quelled the Western Monster Wave with only ten thousand chosen Imperialles, demonstrated his presence and power firmly. It wasn’t a mobilization of the regular imperial army, and among the Imperialles, only ten thousand were selected to pacify the Western Monster Wave.
“The sun that rules over the great Perseta Empire, Emperor Pyeha!”
Shouting loudly with full strength, the chief herald opened the largest gate. The nobles, who had not laughed and barely acknowledged the moment the seemingly indecisive youth suddenly became the Emperor, all deeply bowed.
In any case, the Emperor had roughly sorted out the empire that Carlos Arthur Ingram had betrayed and thrown into chaos. The rampaging monsters turned into corpses, and thanks to that, the remaining breaths of the few Western nobles were freed.
The young Emperor set the atmosphere in the first place. So all the nobles present here, even if it was just a formality, showed their respect to him. The nobles who had sneered and not acknowledged the suddenly appearing Emperor all deeply bowed to him.
“Thanks to the activities of the Imperialles, we’ll be able to enjoy a proper social season this year.”
The young Emperor, dressed in vivid blue, did not praise himself, but in the end, by praising the Imperialles, he accurately pointed out who had safely gathered the nobles here.
“I hope everyone enjoys it.”
The Emperor, who spoke briefly, slumped into the dazzling golden throne, leaning back and placing his chin on his hand. That was his authority. Whether I act like a libertine or not, this place is mine, and I am the Emperor who rules over you, that kind of authority.
“Before starting the party…”
And the Emperor’s words ominously came to an abrupt end. The gray eyes scanned the assembly with a chilly gaze.
The nobles gathered in the vast hall involuntarily held their breaths.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
