Rozelia sat at a table oddly placed amid trees thick as a jungle and looked around.

It was nothing short of miraculous to find such lush trees and grass right in the middle of a desert.

Though, of course, the sky was blocked off by a thin glass-like barrier.

It seemed the royal family and wealthy nobles of Benuev cultivated gardens this way, by building greenhouses indoors.

So dense were the palm trees and vines that the word “garden” felt inadequate—it truly felt like stepping into a jungle.

Fresh fruits hung from the palm trees here and there, and birds, seemingly released on purpose, were plentiful.

Amidst the birds’ noisy chirping, Laksha, the Third Prince Consort, sipped her tea leisurely and smiled faintly.

“I regretted not being able to greet you properly at the banquet, so I’m grateful you accepted my invitation.”

“Not at all. I’m the one who should thank you for inviting me to such a distinguished place.”

In Benuev, the status of women was low. Unless introduced by their husbands at a banquet, women could not even speak to others.

Moreover, men treated women with remarkable disregard, even to the point of rudeness.

Women’s rights were ignored, and women were regarded merely as entertainment at banquets and gatherings.

Though her expression involuntarily tightened at the sight, she had deliberately chosen to ignore it, unwilling to criticize another nation’s customs.

“The other princesses of Benuev didn’t seem to be at the banquet…”
