Disguised as a Male Servant in the Duke's House (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 41
Rozelia placed the ship model she had found tucked away in a corner onto the tabletop, her expression suddenly meaningful.
“What do you think of this, Grandfather?”
“Who’s your grandfather?”
“Oh, don’t be like that. Doesn’t it suddenly stir something in you? Make your fingers twitch with impulse?”
Count Bernas stared blankly at the model ship under Rozelia’s hopeful gaze before briskly scratching the back of his hand.
“My hand’s been itching anyway—must’ve been bitten by a mosquito.”
Disheartened by the count’s indifferent response, Rozelia let out a deep sigh and slumped her shoulders.
She was currently cleaning the dusty Bernas estate.
Though she called it cleaning, in truth she was more searching for items that might jog Count Bernas’s memory while tidying up.
She was technically cleaning as she went, but given how vast the estate was, it was nearly impossible for her to manage alone—so for now, she focused only on the areas the count used daily.
While wiping down a dusty table and side table with a cloth, Rozelia noticed a frame fallen behind the side table and groaned as she pulled it out.
Inside the frame was a black-and-white photograph of a young man standing stiffly in a military uniform. Since photographs hadn’t been common back then, Rozelia naturally assumed it was the count’s son and held it out toward him.
“Grandfather, is this your son?”
The count, who had been playing chess alone at the table, glanced indifferently at the sudden photo thrust before him.
“Yes.”
