Disguised as a Male Servant in the Duke's House (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 15
Klaus was walking down the corridor with Alejandro, discussing whom he was scheduled to meet here for business.
“To choose such a place for a meeting—that man certainly knows how to make an impression.”
“Please bear with it. After all, he’s the head of the most prominent trading company in this area. It won’t hurt to keep things cordial.”
“Enough. Just lead the way quickly.”
Flustered, Rozelia immediately turned around and began walking in the opposite direction.
Why, of all places, here!
Moreover, she was wearing the same golden wig she’d had on during their encounter in Algrisha Village. Though they’d only crossed paths briefly before, Klaus’s sharp eyes would likely recognize her instantly.
Worried about Klaus approaching from behind, she clenched her teeth.
She couldn’t just keep walking in the opposite direction forever.
Nadia’s room was past Klaus, in the opposite direction.
Unable to decide what to do, she ultimately turned into another corridor branching off to the side.
She’d take a detour, planning to reach Nadia’s room via the alternate hallway.
Just as she rounded the corner and was about to turn right again at the end of the corridor—
A massive shadow fell directly in front of Rozelia as she turned into the right hallway.
Feeling an ominous chill run down her neck, Rozelia slowly lifted her gaze.
Above a neatly buttoned shirt covering a broad chest, a pair of familiar, icy eyes looked down at her.
“My lady.”
Unconsciously, Rozelia met Klaus’s gaze and swallowed hard.
“Haven’t we met somewhere before?”
It felt as though she’d run straight into an immovable wall.
Unlike in Algrisha Village, this encounter was so abrupt she hadn’t had time to mask her face. Sweat gathered in her palms as she froze like a rabbit before a leopard.
“My lady.”
He spoke coldly, his eyes fixed stubbornly on her green ones.
“Have we met before?”
His chilling gaze seemed to pierce right through her.
A cold sweat broke out along her spine.
Still, Rozelia forced a calm smile and replied with feigned nonchalance.
“Have we… really?”
Since escape seemed impossible, she decided to play ignorant as best she could.
She figured that if she flatly denied it, he wouldn’t be able to press her further.
Though Klaus’s expression as he looked down at her smiling face remained utterly frosty.
“In Algrisha Village… didn’t you bump into me?”
“Oh—did I? I meet so many people these days; I don’t remember clearly.”
At Rozelia’s curt reply, Klaus glanced briefly at her attire and gave a look that said, ‘That explains it.’
His clearly mistaken expression made her want to cry out in frustration, but she forced herself to stay composed.
Any explanation in her current disguise would sound unconvincing and only drag things out, so she decided to quietly let it go.
“Well then, I’m busy—I’ll take my leave.”
Just as Rozelia tried to slip past him, Klaus moved again, blocking her path like a wall, leaving her wide-eyed.
Puzzled, she looked up at him—his calm navy-blue eyes watched her with quiet persistence.
“One question.”
“W-What is it?”
Rozelia swallowed again, deliberately ignoring Klaus’s penetrating stare with practiced composure.
“Do you know Antonio?”
So he was suspicious after all.
Unconsciously, her pale hands tightened, sweat seeping out.
Relieved that she wasn’t meeting his eyes directly, Rozelia gazed calmly toward the end of the corridor.
At that moment, she spotted Alejandro approaching from the far end, looking for Klaus.
If Klaus already suspected her, and now Alejandro showed up too, she’d almost certainly be exposed beyond doubt.
Without a second thought, Rozelia grabbed Klaus by the lapel of his suit and yanked him into the nearest open door.
Fortunately, it seemed to be an empty room—unused, judging by the complete darkness inside, devoid of even a single candle.

Klaus, pulled inside unexpectedly by Rozelia, looked down at the woman breathing heavily against his chest.
His eyes were drawn involuntarily to her green eyes, peeking past the slightly artificial-looking golden hair, scanning outside the door.
For a moment, confusion flickered in Klaus’s eyes as he stared at her intently.
He could have easily resisted her pull—so why had he followed her in so willingly?
Shaking off his confusion, Klaus quickly steadied his azure eyes and composed his thoughts coldly.
Right—if she was Antonio’s younger sister, and the damn Hessink siblings were deceiving him, he’d need to interrogate her thoroughly and make them pay. That was all.
Yet, from the moment they’d entered the room, an indistinct scent—whether her perfume or her natural aroma—began muddling his thoughts.
Only after Alejandro’s presence faded did Rozelia realize she was pressed closely against the duke in the pitch-dark room.
She hastily released her grip on his suit lapel and awkwardly cleared her throat.
“Oh—sorry. I… saw an acquaintance of mine. It wouldn’t be good if he saw me with another guest.”
Inwardly, Rozelia sighed bitterly. She’d ended up claiming she worked here as a shop attendant—her mouth turned sour, but she had no choice if she wanted to survive this crisis.
Though she thought it a fairly plausible excuse, Klaus clearly didn’t agree, glaring at her coldly.
Noticing how unusually deep his navy eyes appeared, Rozelia tried to slip away from the situation.
“Well… I’m rather busy, so…”
As she tried to quietly slide past his large frame, his massive arm shot out, blocking her path.
Swallowing nervously, Rozelia heard Klaus’s low, stern voice.
“You haven’t answered my question from earlier…”
A danger signal flashed in her mind. If she stalled any longer, she’d be found out!
Doing her best to ignore his gaze, Rozelia snapped back with such forced nonchalance it bordered on irritation.
“I don’t know anyone by that name—could you move your arm?”
At Rozelia’s bold retort, Klaus gave a faint, deflated smile before continuing.
“Then why won’t you look me in the eye?”
“…”
“Isn’t it proper etiquette to speak while facing someone?”
As he spoke, his imposing figure moved even closer.
His firm leg brushed against the hem of her dress, making Rozelia gasp involuntarily in surprise.
Seemingly intrigued by her reaction, he grasped her chin and turned her face upward to meet his eyes.
“I’ll ask again. Do you know Antonio?”
He was too close—so close she couldn’t even speak!
Overwhelmed by her racing heart, Rozelia finally lost control and shoved him away roughly.
“I already told you—I don’t know him!”
Without looking back, Rozelia fled straight out the door.
She didn’t need a mirror to know her face was burning. Frustrated by her inexplicable reaction, she stormed out of the building, fuming.
At this rate, she wouldn’t be able to have a proper conversation with Nadia even if she met her.
Damn it, Duke Valtezar!
Perhaps because she’d spent so much time immersed in the original story, her body instinctively reacted to even the slightest contact with him—leaving Rozelia utterly irritated by her own sensitivity.
[This is the timeline separator]Rozelia shook her head as she looked at Clojet, who was wearing an eye mask adorned with black ducal feathers.
Unhappy with Rozelia’s lukewarm response, Clojet pouted and protested.
“Is it really that bad?”
“Yes.”
At Rozelia’s blunt assessment, Clojet immediately agreed and put on another mask offered by Delma.
This one was decorated with green feathers and a gold rim.
Though elegant and refined, the mask didn’t harmonize well with Clojet’s clear sapphire-blue eyes.
When Rozelia again shook her head, Clojet pouted stubbornly and held out her hand to Mellda.
“Next!”
Mellda shot Rozelia a disapproving glance before handing over the final mask.
This one was sky-blue, inlaid with a sapphire and trimmed with white feathers.
Rozelia, who had been sipping tea, set her cup down and smiled softly as she saw the mask—perfectly matching Clojet’s silver-blue hair and eyes.
“This one’s good?”

Clojet beamed at Rozelia’s positive smile and asked eagerly, to which Rozelia nodded.
“Yes, it suits you very well.”
“Right? I thought so too—it’s definitely the best. Oh, by the way, this mask seems like it would suit Antonio as well.”
Clojet held up the earlier mask—the one with green feathers and a gold rim.
It did complement Rozelia’s emerald eyes beautifully. The only problem was that it was clearly designed for women.
Of course, she was a woman—but since she was currently posing as a male servant, she couldn’t possibly wear it.
“You’re joking, right?”
“What a shame. If Antonio were a girl, she’d be absolutely stunning.”
Though meant as a lighthearted comment, Rozelia felt an inexplicable twinge of discomfort and silently took another sip of tea.
“If you wore that mask to your debutante ball, people would label you a pervert.”
“Well… I can’t wear it at my debutante, but trying it on for just a moment won’t hurt, right?”
“Huh?”
Rozelia broke into a cold sweat as Clojet, already holding the mask and wearing a mischievous grin, drew closer.
“Your Highness, please…”
“Just once, Antonio? Your green eyes would look absolutely perfect with it. Aren’t you curious, Mellda?”
Clojet pulled in Mellda, who’d been standing idly nearby, to back her up.
“Well… it’s certainly no match for your beauty, Princess, but I am a little curious.”
“See, Antonio? Just once. Hmm?”
Rozelia let out a deep sigh and reluctantly nodded.
Delighted by her agreement, Clojet hurried over with the mask.
Soon, she stood over Rozelia, who sat obediently on the sofa, and placed the mask—but then fell utterly silent.
Rozelia, who’d kept her eyes closed, slowly opened them when Clojet didn’t react after putting on the mask.
Before her stood Clojet, eyes shining as if she’d just discovered a masterpiece.
“Your Highness?”
“Good heavens, Antonio… why weren’t you born a girl?”
Male lead is a Divorced Husband
She said to him: “Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change it!”

Liu Changning transmigrated into a female cannon fodder character in a female-dominant novel.
After reading the first half of the novel’s plot, the first thing she did upon transmigration was to divorce the Pan Jinlian-style male protagonist she had just married.
She indulged herself, pretending to be ugly and poor.
But as time passed, the way that man looked at her became more and more unusual…
Liu Changning was dumbfounded: Tell me, what makes you like me? I’ll change!
――
This lifetime, Pei Yuanshao was rejected by the same woman twice!
The first time, she drove him away. Forced by the situation, he endured the waves of anger in his heart, yielding and humbling himself.
That person lay slanted on a rocking chair, her sallow face emotionless: “If you don’t want a divorce, go cook!”
Pei Yuanshao’s face was dark and gloomy: “You!”
The second time, after the crisis in Jinling City was resolved, the new emperor sent someone to pick him up. He turned around, stammering: “I… I have to go. If you keep me…”
That person lay on the kang bed, her back to him, as if she had long anticipated this day, crisp and clear: “Goodbye!”
Pei Yuanshao was so angry his fingers trembled: “You… you!”
The mission of family and country made him restrain himself, averting his eyes and turning to leave this broken household.
Two years later, they met again. Seeing her ethereal face, his body shook like a sieve.
“She was originally a ‘she’!”
At the Qionglin Banquet, the top scholar of the imperial examination, a talented person with exceptional speech and conduct, all the unmarried young gentlemen from aristocratic families looked at her with shy and timid eyes.
The peerless imperial official Pei Yuanshao felt the anger in his heart erupt. He pointed at the woman surrounded by the crowd at the Qionglin Banquet, his thin lips slightly curled: “Little sister, I wants that person to be the wife-master of my Mingde Prince Manor.”
