Upon seeing Closet’s stern reaction, Jucid annoyingly snickered and narrowed her eyes.

“Is that so? What a pity. I was hoping to show some affection to your domestic assistant if he visited our residence.”

“Why would my domestic assistant need your affection?”

“Oh, Lady Closet, are you jealous of a domestic assistant? If that’s the case, I can lend you mine. Wouldn’t that solve it?”

Unable to bear it any longer, flames of anger sparked in Closet’s eyes.

“Lady Jucid!”

“Oh my, don’t get so worked up… It’s just a joke. I have to go now; I have a lunch appointment with my brother.”

With those words, Jucid linked arms with her domestic assistant and hurriedly left.

Closet, still fuming, clenched her fists. Sighing deeply, Roselia guided her towards the carriage.

Afterwards, in the carriage, Closet remained sullen, seemingly preoccupied with Jucid’s earlier remarks about Claus.

Roselia decided she needed to escort Closet as much as possible at the debutante ball, especially in Claus’s absence.

Closet’s debutante ball arrived quickly.

Roselia, in an evening gown far more uncomfortable than her usual attire, surveyed the grand ballroom.

Closet, the star of the evening, was stunning in her aqua-colored dress, resembling a sea nymph. She stood out even amidst the many masked guests, especially in her Raphelios-style eye mask.

Roselia proudly watched Closet, who shone brightly among the crowd, and adjusted her own full-face mask, a typical Lugbelzhet style that only revealed the eyes, feeling less pressured in this unfamiliar gathering.

Then, Roselia noticed a woman, arm-in-arm with a man, approaching Closet.

“Lady Closet, happy birthday.”

At the sound of her voice, Closet’s expression stiffened awkwardly.

“Lady Jucid, you’re here.”

“Such a witty and fun idea, a masquerade ball. But isn’t it a bit unfair that only you wear such a pretty eye mask?”

Unfair? It’s her birthday and debutante ball; of course, Closet should stand out.

Roselia frowned from a distance as she listened to their conversation.

Then, the topic Roselia dreaded came up.

“By the way, where is the Duke? I was hoping to greet him with my brother.”

“……”

“Surely… he wouldn’t miss your debutante ball?”

Just as Roselia was about to intervene, a servant’s voice echoed in the crowded ballroom.

“Presenting Duke Klaus de Baltazar of the Baltazar Dukedom!”

Suddenly, Jucid’s face tightened in shock.

In contrast, Closet and Roselia looked astounded, turning their gaze toward the entrance.

A tall man in a black evening suit entered, drawing the attention of everyone in the room.

Wearing a silver eye mask, he stood out among the men, his cold demeanor unchanged despite the many eyes on him.

“Klaus…”

Despite being the center of attention, Klaus appeared utterly calm and undisturbed.

His usual sharp suit attire was replaced with a black evening suit, his hair neatly swept back, accentuating his handsome features.

Notably, his eye mask and pocket handkerchief matched Closet’s in color, harmonizing their appearances.

Klaus quickly spotted Closet amidst the crowd and approached her.

“Seems I’m a bit late. I tried to finish my work quickly to get here…”

Closet was still in shock, even as Klaus stood right before her.
Despite her reaction, Klaus nonchalantly began.

“And these people are…….”

Scanning Jucid and the male she was conversing with, Klaus looked at Closet expectantly for an introduction. Regaining her composure, Closet hesitantly spoke.

“This is Viscount Belmont.”

“Meeting a figure so hard to encounter, it’s a pleasure to see you, Duke,” responded the Viscount.

“And this is Lady Jucid of the Belmont family. She seemed very curious about you.”

Closet spoke with a triumphant smugness in her expression.

In contrast, Klaus, hearing ‘brother’ for the first time in nearly five years, looked astonished.

Seemingly pleased, Klaus uncharacteristically smiled warmly at Jucid.

“It’s an honor to hear you were curious about me. I hope you thoroughly enjoy the evening…”

Overwhelmed by Klaus’s impeccable manners and handsome appearance, Jucid blushed and was rendered speechless.

Watching this, Closet internally scoffed.

Noticing Closet’s meaningful smile, Jucid, looking resentful, quickly excused herself from the scene.

Roselia clicked her tongue, watching the unfolding events.

Jucid must have been certain the Duke would never appear.

Neither Closet nor Roselia had anticipated Klaus’s arrival. The reason behind his sudden presence was a mystery.

Could it be… that the words Roselia had spoken about Closet had an impact?

Roselia shook her head, dismissing the thought.

That arrogant and cold-hearted Duke wouldn’t have been swayed by a few words from her.

Meanwhile, the ballroom buzzed with more excitement at the Duke’s arrival.

Soon, people flocked around Closet, who, already a notable figure, now shone even brighter with her brother’s presence.

“Such a perfect pair, the Duke is astonishingly tall!”

“Even with their masks, their beauty is unmistakable.”

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
