Roselia couldn’t help but gaze at Klaus as if enchanted by the surreal situation. Klaus also looked down at her in silence for a while. Soon, Roselia belatedly realized the reality and jolted awake.

“How did you… No, you shouldn’t be here! They suspect you in the palace!”

“That’s why I came…”

“What?”

In response to Klaus’s firm words, Roselia, with wide-open eyes, looked at him. Klaus’s eyes sadly distorted as he gazed at her.

“You got trapped in this place because of my absurd false accusation.”

“I… I…”

Contrary to her expectations that Klaus would calmly assess the situation, he seemed quite shaken, and Roselia rolled her eyes in confusion.

Looking down at her, Klaus uttered in a heavily lowered voice, “I will somehow get you out of here, so endure it. Don’t say anything during the trial tomorrow. If the accused claims the right to remain silent according to the royal law, the trial may be postponed.”

A self-deprecating smile appeared on Roselia’s lips at his unexpectedly hopeful remark. Roselia knew the temperament of the Crown Prince. If she remains silent during the trial tomorrow, the Crown Prince would likely continue to act according to the original work, where he would kill her.

After organizing her thoughts, Roselia looked Klaus squarely in the eyes with a determined expression.

“Listen carefully. You must not appear in the courtroom tomorrow.”

“What…?”

“That’s what they want. The Duke appearing in the courtroom, praising me, and causing a disturbance. You must not play along with their plans.”

“What does that mean…?”

“Never come to the prison again. It’s for my sake and for the Duke. Promise me.”

After saying that, Roselia firmly looked into his eyes and added her last words, “Promise me to do it for my sake.”

At Roselia’s firm words, Klaus’s expression painfully distorted. Without looking at her, he bowed his head and mumbled quietly, “…The night temperature is cold, so make sure to cover yourself with a blanket.”

With those words, Klaus disappeared into the darkness once again.

Roselia had to stand there and gaze into the endless darkness where Klaus vanished.

And inevitably, the sun rose, and the next day, under the dazzling sunlight, Roselia, pursued by soldiers, walked resolutely along the royal corridor.

It was the day of her trial.

Guided by the soldiers and walking along the royal corridor, Roselia stood in front of a giant door, tightly clenching her hands to hide any signs of trembling.

As the massive door opened, the brilliant light poured over her black hair.

And as she opened her eyes and stepped inside, she found herself in a colossal hall towering three stories high.

It was a place usually reserved for grand events such as coronations and ceremonies, a place she had never had the chance to see before.
At the edge of the vast hall, the size of a banquet hall, were numerous nobles and imperial officials.

Among the countless crowd, she couldn’t see any familiar faces.

As she looked at the invisible Klaus, in accordance with her request, a sense of relief and bitterness filled her mouth.

Yes, for the sake of the closet and the people of the dukedom, Klaus shouldn’t appear here.

Whatever she wished for, there was an oddly uneasy feeling in her heart.

Soon, she walked to the center of the hall, disturbed by the rough behavior of the shoulder-shrugging soldiers.

Prince Esteban, seated on the throne, was looking at her indifferently.

The gaze of the nobles looking at her below the throne was filled with a unanimous sense of disgust and disdain.

Somehow, in a situation that seemed to overlap with the description of Roselia’s death in the original work, she silently took her place in the center, wearing a self-deprecating expression.

As she stopped in front of the throne, the prince solemnly opened his mouth.

“I will begin the imperial trial.”

The echoing voice filled the hall, silencing the murmurs in the audience.

“Antonio de Hesing, I ask you. Who ordered you to bring the imperial seal?”

Under the prince’s interrogation, Roselia spoke calmly with an unwavering expression.

“No one ordered me to bring the seal.”

Her firm words made the prince furrow his brow.

“So, did you steal the seal on your own?”

In response to the prince’s question, Roselia looked straight into his eyes and shouted confidently.

“I did not steal it.”

“Then, how do you explain the imperial seal that came out of your bag?”

“Someone deliberately put the seal in my bag to frame me and the duke.”

In response to her confident defense, the prince coldly asked with raised eyebrows.

“Who, and why would someone do such a thing?”

Roselia, as if she had been waiting, solidified her expression and confidently spoke.

“To fabricate an excuse to harm the duke through me, I suppose.”

“Well…”

As the prince trailed off, staring at her, Roselia, unyielding, looked him in the eyes and firmly continued.

“If what I say is true, then there must be someone who conspired against me and created this false situation. Who could that be?”
