While I was filling myself with determination from behind, we had already arrived at our destination. From tapped the huge door lightly with his palm and said,

“This is the monster breeding facility. There are only three Moonlight Wolf Dogs here right now. Well, if you do your job right, there may be more later. Anyway, go in.”

Then all the researchers seemed to be about to leave, turning their bodies. I quickly stretched out my arm to block their way.

“Where are you going? You should go in with me and explain how you’ve been taking care of them so far, and tell me what to watch out for.”

Although it was a natural demand, strangely, the researchers all made a nervous expression at the same time.

‘Why are they acting like that? Are they that busy?’

I decided to give in for a moment.

“Alright. Then just the person who’s been in charge of monster management so far, please stay. Who is it?”

The researcher trio, Sek, Titira, and Kiri, looked at their boss at the same time. When eight pairs of eyes turned to him, From got angry.

“Are you pushing this onto me, you lot? Ridiculous! Fine, everyone follow. Let’s go in together!”

Snorting, From stepped forward. He swung the door wide open.

At the same time, a foul smell invaded my nostrils. I quickly pinched my nose. I knew this smell very well.

‘It’s the smell of dogs.’

Accompanied by the smell of feces and urine.

But it was so pungent? I scrunched my face.

But my reaction was quite mild compared to the others. The researchers next to me were coughing and covering their noses, making a big fuss.

‘That’s why they didn’t want to go in.’

I strode into the room, glancing once at the coughing researchers stuck at the door.

The breeding room I looked around was just as shocking as the smell.

A simply vast, dim, and utterly dreary gray room. Dust and clumps of fur were rolling everywhere, and there were even cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling.

Besides the stifling smell and this stifling air……. it seems like it’s not even properly ventilated.

Even though it’s hard to approach the monsters, not managing them like this, are they sane?

I wanted to grab the researchers by their hair and rip it out, but I held back for now. There was urgent work to be done.

I haven’t found the most important puppies yet.

I moved into the depths of the dark room, thinking of various things to deal with, looking for the puppies.

‘First of all, I need to clean thoroughly……. I wonder if there’s some kind of air purification magic? It’ll take a while to get rid of the smell.’
But before dying, I had some experience in this field, having volunteered at an animal shelter and worked parttime at my uncle’s pet training center. It was a relief.

“Whine, whimper.”

Then, a very small and weak sound came from one corner of the room.

“!”

I quickly turned my body towards the direction of the sound. There was a large animal cage and a small animal cage placed side by side.

In the small cage, one pair of eyes glowed, and in the large cage, two pairs of eyes sparkled.

‘It’s too dark to see well.’

I eventually asked the researchers for help.

“Can you turn on the light here?”

The researchers looked at each other. Soon, someone snapped their fingers.

As if by magic, the room brightened instantly.

With astonishment, I turned my eyes back inside the cage. And I immediately gasped.

“This is crazy.”

The interior of the large cage was a mess.

Starting from dried feces stuck in the corner to an empty filthy water bowl, to buginfested food that seemed to have been neglected for a while.

I stared blankly at the two animals huddled together, shivering inside the cage. How long had they been trapped in this dreadful place?

One of the animals, trapped in the small cage, whined pitifully at me, standing dumbfounded. Seeing it isolated, it must be the one I met in the gallery.

The thin and dirty puppy that was glancing around with an anxious look.

Now I understood why it had been so anxious. My blood ran cold.

I asked the researchers in an uncharacteristically cold and stern voice.

“When did you give them water?”

“Eh? Well…….”

Prom mumbled vaguely. I asked again.

“What’s this food? How old is it?”

“It’s a special feed we made for the monsters…… they didn’t eat it, so we left it out for them to eat if they were hungry……. I don’t know how long……”

Titira answered in a creeping voice. I asked one last time.

“How long have they been confined in this condition?”

“I know that! It’s exactly 56 days~.”

Sek answered excitedly. I clenched my fists. But I couldn’t lash out like Asphayren for fear of frightening the puppies.

I am a pet owner, and as I mentioned earlier, I often volunteered at an animal shelter.

What I hated most was tormenting animals and children.

Now the issue wasn’t about achieving the goal. My priorities changed instantly.

Let’s bring down the hammer of justice on those damned researchers, shall we?

“Come in.”

The researchers, who seemed to be trying to escape, stopped in their tracks. I glared at them and commanded in a low voice.

“Come in, all of you.”

“As I said earlier, we are very busy unlike you…….”

“Now.”

“But, but…….”

“Now!”

The researchers hurriedly ran into the room. The last one to enter, Kiri, mumbled in a dazed voice.

“I, I was surprised. I thought you were the lord.”

My Step-brother Is Obsessed With Me (Female-dominant)

A gentle female protagonist vs pitiful in the early stage, and a sick male protagonist in the later stage

Cheng Songer transmigrated into the body of a vicious cannon fodder female supporting character with the same name as her in a female-dominant novel.

In the original story, the cannon fodder female supporting character was inhumane, committing domestic violence, gambling excessively, being lustful, and even wanting to sell her stepbrother to a brothel for money.

As luck would have it, she just happened to transmigrate at this time.

Seeing Cheng Qingzhi biting his lip, enduring the tears in his eyes, looking pitiful, her heart softened.

She stuffed the money back into the Madam’s hand and reached out to him.

“Brother, come home with me.”
