As I looked up at the owner as if seeking help, he grinned and launched into a lengthy explanation. Starting with how he had begun running this shop since his father’s time, his explanation continued without pause, covering every ingredient in the food and the process of preparing it himself.

The hands we still held were interlocked without a single gap, and though the sun rose high bringing hot air, we silently listened to the owner.

“Shall I give you one?”

“Two, please. So, what did you say the name of this food is?”

“It’s called getuda.”

Finally hearing the name, I felt refreshed and smiled brightly at Ricardo. Seeing me like that, he momentarily stiffened but soon returned a smile that resembled mine.

But……

“Rica?”

“Hm?”

“Aren’t you going to pay?”

“What?”

He just held my hand tightly and showed no intention of moving. I stared at him blankly with dazed eyes.

“By any chance, do you not have money?”

Ricardo looked truly flustered. Finding that cute, I wanted to tease him a bit more.

“No, what……”
