Min Woo, his face deeply furrowed, sat in a private room at S Hotel’s restaurant with Kang Joo Ran.

Originally scheduled two weeks ago,

this was the supposedly crucial meeting Kang Joo Ran had been talking about day and night.

But Chairman Cha Seung Jo, who was supposed to join them today, didn’t show up.

Ever since the Onyu Pharmaceuticals investment deal had been handed over to Lee Kang Hyun, Chairman Cha Seung Jo suddenly canceled, saying he couldn’t stand the sight of Min Woo.

Madam Kim pointed at Min Woo, chuckled warmly, and made the introduction.

“He’s been promoted to executive at such an impressive pace! You know how it is—companies like C&C Global don’t cut slack even for family members if they lack ability. His talent must come from his father, Chairman Cha Seung Jo.”

Cha Min Woo wanted nothing more than to storm out right then and there, but he clenched his fists tightly and forced himself to stay calm.

He sat silently, recalling his conversation with Joo Ran just a few days ago.

“What do you mean, another matchmaking meeting, Mother? Why are you doing this to me? One failure was enough—can’t you just stop now?”

“If you failed once, you must do better this time! Ji Yeon’s already sailed away. You have to let her go. And Jung Se Ah? Does she even make sense? Not as long as I’m still breathing!”
