Ji Yeon, who hadn’t heard from her older brother Ji Hoo since their last family gathering, met him for lunch at a quiet restaurant near her office.

“Oppa! Long time no see. How have you been?”

“Yeah, Ji Yeon-ah. How about you?”

“I’ve been good. By the way, how’s my new sister-in-law feeling? I heard she’s really struggling with morning sickness?”

“Ugh, don’t even get me started. Lately, she can’t even drink water. I’d heard about ‘eating sickness’ being tough… but honestly, eating seems better than this. Watching her unable to keep anything down—it wears me out just sitting beside her. If I feel this way, imagine how she must feel. She’s gotten super thin lately. You’ll be shocked when you see her. I just hope this phase passes quickly.”

“That bad? Our niece or nephew really needs to come into the world without making Mom suffer too much… This is serious.”

Ji Yeon, who had been eagerly awaiting the birth of her first niece or nephew more than anyone else, couldn’t hide her deep concern upon hearing how hard her sister-in-law was struggling.

After ordering their meals, Ji Hoo opened the laptop he’d brought along.

“This is about what you asked me last time.”

“Yeah, I’m really curious.”

“I’ve gathered a list of C&C shares that might be available. They’re all from my contacts or partners who’ve expressed willingness to sell. I could probably find more if I look further.”

Ji Hoo opened an Excel file and showed her the data.

“Thanks so much for going to all this trouble, Oppa.”

“What do you think of the numbers?”

Ji Yeon carefully examined the file and nodded.
