The sharp, distinctive smell of hospital disinfectant hung heavily in the air. Tae Kyung, together with Team Leader Han, had been observing Kim Ha Yoon for two hours straight at the hospital where she was admitted.

According to her assigned nurse, Kim Ha Yoon had spent nearly half a day either asleep or rambling incoherently under the influence of medication.

“What’s that?”

At Tae Kyung’s question, the nurse turned her head toward him.

“Oh, that? You mean the scribbles? She sometimes draws like that—once she starts, she’ll keep at it for hours straight. Because of that, this room alone has already been repainted several times.”

“Can I take a closer look at what she’s drawn?”

“I’m afraid you’d need the director’s permission to go inside. Let me check and get back to you.”

“No. Can’t you check right now? I’d like to see it immediately.”

“Huh?”

The nurse looked visibly uncomfortable and couldn’t even meet Tae Kyung’s eyes properly.

“How could it possibly be impossible?”

Under Tae Kyung’s subtly flirtatious gaze, the nurse bit down hard on her lower lip.

The director had entrusted her with this task and repeatedly warned her: be courteous, but never grant any request without his explicit approval.
