The atmosphere inside the news division was icy.

Unusually, Woo Yeon didn’t show up at the daily 10 a.m. news meeting.

Reporter Yum, holding his notebook and pen, deliberately raised his voice loud enough for Director Song to hear.

“What’s going on? Anchor Yoon, who’s always the first to sit down, isn’t showing up today?”

It’s not like dating is a crime. He muttered this quietly, but loud enough for everyone to hear.

Director Song, his face heavy, announced the start of the meeting.

This time was usually reserved for selecting news items for the day’s broadcast, yet everyone seemed eager to bring up Woo Yeon.

Team Leader Ha, who never liked her much, seized the opportunity to pose a sudden question.

“Director, what are you going to do? I know the schedule reshuffle is coming up soon, but are you really keeping Anchor Yoon in that spot? Now that the photos are already out there, it’s unreasonable to have her anchor tonight’s news as if nothing happened. We should find a replacement immediately…”

Director Song scratched his head. Even if they put Woo Yeon’s anchor position on hold until the reshuffle, they definitely needed a substitute for today’s broadcast.

With the personal life of an anchor who’s meant to deliver the truth now exposed to the entire nation, having her go on air as usual simply wasn’t feasible.

He hadn’t considered swapping out the anchor for a day or two until the heat died down—not because he hadn’t thought of it.

She had never once missed the morning meeting—held every day at 10 a.m.—even though she didn’t need to attend for the evening news.
