Soeun’s body fitting snugly into Taejun’s arms was tender because of its small size. It made him want to protect this small body.

His deep sigh slowly flowed down Soeun’s neck. Reacting to it, as Soeun flinched and shivered, Taejun’s breath inside her neck grew warm.

It would be nice to keep hugging her like this, but it wasn’t an appropriate place. Taejun released the tightly wrapped arms and took a step back. Soeun didn’t lift her head. Taejun tilted his head slightly to check Soeun’s face. Her face was blushing like the pulp of a well-ripened watermelon.

Even though she had experienced relationships, why was she so openly shy?

Finding her reaction amusing, another sigh escaped Taejun’s lips.

The dilemma of what to do next disappeared. Taejun held Soeun’s hand and returned to the car. Placing Soeun in the passenger seat, he sat in the driver’s seat and immediately started the car.

Once the car moved, Soeun seemed to barely regain her senses. The excitement of the confession hadn’t subsided yet, but as they separated from the embrace, and her hand let go, she became aware of reality.

‘What on earth did I do? So, how does this person feel?’

It’s not like the answer would come out smoothly like filling in blanks with Excel functions. This.

She threw herself into it, setting the end of the confession alone. And this person seemed to change direction. Her confession seemed to have affected his feelings.

So where are we going now? It doesn’t seem like the way to my house, does it? Are we going to eat as this person said? I still feel a little embarrassed.

Soeun, who had been hesitating for a while, released her lips.

“But where are you going right now?”

“We’re going to my house.”

To Taejun’s calm response, Soeun asked with a tense expression, biting her lower lip.

Watching Soeun’s reaction with a pleased look, Taejun reached out to the side, grabbing the hand that was tightly holding her bag.

“I thought I’d send you home, right?”

Absolutely.

I thought I would easily send you away with whatever change in your words tomorrow.

That way, except for the times when my right hand is needed for driving, Soeun’s hand remained in Taejun’s hand the whole time.

Heewook went to the department store to buy a local proposal ring. Since there was only one store in Korea for the overseas jewelry brand he was looking for, he had to take the time in the evening, driving.

It’s damn hard to propose just once. It was a lukewarm day where curses naturally came out. Even inside the cool department store, irritation somehow didn’t go away.

The jewelry shop was located in the middle of a corridor abundant with luxury brands.

“Welcome. You’re the reserved customer, right?”

Even so, when he entered the store, they treated him well. Heewook was guided to the coolest place, treated with iced lemonade, and inwardly laughed bitterly.

“The ring you mentioned over the phone is this product. Sir.”
A woman wearing white gloves showed a ring to Heewook. Under the dazzling lights, the ring sparkled brightly, making it quite beautiful. However, accepting the fact that it was worth fifty million won was difficult.

Seeing this being called a proposal ring, he wondered if he would be asked to buy another one for a wedding ring. How much would a wedding ring demand in terms of price? Just thinking about it gave him a headache. Amidst various bitter thoughts, Heewook noticed the price tag. It was different from what he had seen on the internet.

“But… the price is a bit different. I checked, and it was fifty million won.”

“Yes. It was raised yesterday. It’s a policy from the headquarters.”

“…So, you raised it by five hundred thousand won in a day?”

Heewook thought about the monthly rent for Hansoeun’s house, which was not even five million and five hundred thousand won.

Heewook thought that his love was indeed expensive.

‘No. Even so, after getting married, I’ll be compensated for it.’

Thinking about the property his father-in-law would give him after marriage, Heewook justified the value of the ring. Checking his bank balance, which had instantly lost five billion and five hundred million won, felt like losing a vital organ.

While the employee explained various things about the new product and packaged it, Heewook, who had lost his strength, turned his gaze outside the door. And his eyes widened.

It was a scene of Hansoeun and Director Kim Taejun walking side by side. Heewook thought he might have thought about Hansoeun for a moment and seen something wrong. Without realizing it, he rushed out of the store. The figures of the woman and the man, who had become quite distant, were really like Hansoeun and Kim Taejun.

And Hansoeun’s clothes. It seemed like the outfit she had worn when he met her before.

Returning to his seat, Heewook urged the employee.

“Can it be done quickly?”

“It’s all done. Here you go, sir.”

As the employee handed over the ring package, Heewook swiftly took it as if snatching it.

“Thank you, sir. Good luck with your proposal!”
