After gently laying So-eun on the bed, Tae-jun covered her with a blanket up to her shoulders and placed her phone on the nightstand where she would easily find it upon waking. He turned on the air purifier and set the air conditioning to a comfortable sleep mode before carefully turning off the lights with quiet steps. He quietly closed the door and finally let out the breath he had been holding.

Sigh.

Having to be cautious in my own house.

But he couldn’t blame anyone else; this was all his own doing.

After finishing everything, Tae-jun took a cold shower and tried to sleep on the sofa. Despite the size of his house, he didn’t bring people over, so there was only one bed. As someone who couldn’t sleep well in uncomfortable places, he found it hard to fall asleep even with his eyes closed. It seemed like Han So-eun, plagued by the sleep demon, had stolen his share of sleep too.

For the first time, he felt remorse for his reckless actions.

But, wasn’t this what he had intended to do eventually?

Pretending to have a conscience now is a bit late.

He found it funny that he thought of Han So-eun as foolish, yet he was the one who ended up doing something even more foolish.

8:00 AM.

Ah… I slept well! Refreshing!

It feels like it’s been a while since I had such a good sleep!

So-eun opened her eyes, enjoying the soft touch of the fluffy goose-down comforter. She couldn’t remember her dream, but it seemed like it was a happy one.

“Uh…?”

But just three seconds after waking up, the smile vanished from So-eun’s face.

Every time I open my eyes, the world changes drastically.

Yesterday, I woke up in the hospital. Where am I now?

A hotel?

[Dash] Kim Tae-jun’s house.

It was a note Tae-jun had left the night before, anticipating that So-eun would wake up confused about where she was. He had prominently placed the note in front of her phone screen.

“No way.”

She couldn’t help but be shocked. There was no explanation of how she ended up here, which brought some frightening thoughts.

And now it’s Saturday morning at 8:00.

The last time she checked the time, it was just past 10:00 PM. The fact that about ten hours had vanished made her heart sink and then flutter.

So-eun immediately left the bedroom. Passing through a short hallway, she entered a living room as large as a playground.

Tae-jun was bustling about in the kitchen.

“Did you wake up?”

It was the kind of morning greeting that a happily married couple in their second year of an arranged marriage might exchange. Not that she had ever been married.

“Good morning, Director.”

So-eun greeted him with a scared voice.

Perhaps due to her blurry vision, Kim Tae-jun, dressed in a casual T-shirt, seemed like a different person. He didn’t look stern, more like a friend of the same age. Still, So-eun made an effort to regard him with difficulty and cautiously voiced her question.

“Sorry to bother you this early, but what happened yesterday…”

“I drove you home in my car, but you just wouldn’t wake up, so it turned out this way.”

Tae-jun kindly explained the situation first.

“I’ve never seen anyone fall asleep as deeply as you, Assistant Han.”

So-eun couldn’t believe it either. She was someone who could wake up easily if someone roused her. She wasn’t the type to sleep deeply for long periods in uncomfortable places.

“You didn’t put me to sleep on purpose, did you?”

“Do you think I used some kind of drug to make you sleep? Want to go for a check-up?”

“No, that’s not what I meant. But in the car, you made the back warm, covered me with a blanket, and adjusted the seat to be comfortable…”

Maybe he deliberately didn’t wake me up. But why?

How did I even get here? Did I walk in my sleep like someone with somnambulism?

“Do you know that I carried Assistant Han So-eun up to your apartment?”
In response to the questions in So-eun’s mind, Tae-jun once again provided the answers first.

So-eun’s mouth opened wide in astonishment.

“I couldn’t enter because you didn’t tell me the passcode, so I thought about leaving you at the door, but then decided to bring you here.”

Tae-jun continued his story in a tone that seemed to plead not to suspect anything else. So-eun felt a rush of heat to her face, realizing the nuisance she had caused.

“Um, Director…”

So-eun’s voice became faint and unsure.

“Did you also carry me to the hospital?”

Tae-jun laughed and replied.

“Who else would have done it?”

So-eun’s voice trembled with each syllable.

“……And you carried me up to my house, that is, up to the third floor…”

“I told you already.”

“So, did you carry me back down too?”

“I regret doing that.”

“…….”

“I should have rolled you down.”

Although Tae-jun’s joke was meant to make her laugh, So-eun couldn’t shake off her stunned expression.

“Really, you went up and then came down with me?”

“Do you want to see the car’s black box footage?”

“……And then you carried me up here too?”

“I carried you up 30 floors using the stairs because the elevator was broken.”

“Gasp.”

So-eun’s face was now a picture of shock.

Tae-jun, trying to suppress his laughter, asked.

“I’m a fool, right?”

Her innocence, which would have believed even if he said 100 floors, was amusing to him. Her naive affection directed towards someone else had only been frustrating, but now that it was turned towards him, it became such an interesting thing.

“Director, I’m really serious. Please tell me the truth.”

“What do you want to know? Whether I took the elevator or the stairs?”

“Yes…….”

“Does it matter?”

“It’s about my guilt…”

“Please say you used the elevator, is what’s written here. What should I answer to that?”

Tae-jun stepped closer and pointed at her forehead.

Following the direction indicated by the tip of Tae-jun’s finger, her eyes rolled. Each of her reactions was so amusing that Tae-jun couldn’t help but laugh, yet So-eun did not join him in laughter. Instead, she became even more cautious.

“……Actually, I wasn’t feeling well, so maybe I overdid it. I’m sorry.”

Tae-jun, seemingly ignoring So-eun’s polite apology, nonchalantly placed a bowl on the table. It was seolleongtang, delivered early in the morning.

“I promise I won’t cause such trouble again.”

“Just eat.”

So-eun glanced at the bowl in front of her and shook her head. She felt she shouldn’t trouble Tae-jun any further.

“No, thank you. I’ll be going now.”

“Eat before you go.”

But Tae-jun was just as stubborn, refusing to yield.

“I went through a lot because of you, so just listen to me.”

His tone was both affectionate and stern.

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
