The next morning, Min Je strongly dissuaded Ha Yeon—who insisted she’d go on her own—and ended up driving her there.

“I’ll be back soon. See you later.”

“Okay, take care and come back safely.”

Ha Yeon quickly pecked Min Je on the cheek and jumped out of the car before he could grab her. She looked truly lovely, waving brightly with a radiant smile.

Min Je kept waving until Ha Yeon disappeared from sight, then rubbed his jaw, feeling conflicted.

He couldn’t very well stop her from graduating university, which left him in a real bind. As the saying goes, a thirsty man digs his own well—and since he was the one yearning for her, should he just enroll in university alongside her? He pondered this seriously.

Min Je even wondered aloud whether he could pull some strings to get himself hired here—even as a part-time lecturer—and let out a dry chuckle.

That mad fool—Min Je muttered, dragging his hand down his gaunt face.

Lately, he hadn’t had a single moment for his self-esteem to recover. With a sigh, he started the car and pulled away from campus.

Ha Yeon was making her way diligently through the noisy crowd of students. Just then, someone approached with a cheerful voice.

“Nuna!”

She flinched, thinking she’d heard a hallucination. She’d even wondered for a moment whether Ji Hoo was somewhere nearby in this vast campus.
