“I’m sorry, but today’s a bit inconvenient.”

Without the slightest hesitation, Ha Yeon flatly rejected Lee Tae’s proposal.

Huh? What’s with this woman? Lee Tae let out an incredulous sigh. In all his life, he’d never met a woman like Ha Yeon—someone who outright rejected his offer without even pausing to think.

He knew well how to use his looks to his advantage, especially aware of the effect his charming smile had on unmarried women. A soft, melting smile usually softened most hearts.

After that, his ingrained manners made it easy to win over women effortlessly. Ha Yeon, however, was like stone—this was the first time he’d met someone so unresponsive, and his usual composure slipped.

“It won’t take much of your time.”

He muttered a curse inwardly, wondering if he really had to go this far. Yet, retreating without even trying was something his pride simply wouldn’t allow.

“I’m sorry, but I’m with someone. I’ve already kept them waiting quite long.”

Ha Yeon genuinely glanced anxiously toward the café, making Lee Tae curious. Who exactly was this “someone” she kept mentioning?

“If it’s not too much trouble, I wouldn’t mind meeting your companion as well.”

It was truly rare for him to persistently extend such an invitation.

“That doesn’t seem like a good idea. I’m sorry, but I’ll be going now.”

Yet Ha Yeon, oblivious, repeated the same line like a parrot.

Who on earth was this person she came with? Lee Tae narrowed his eyes, pondering deeply—then quickly masked his expression with a smile.

“Well then, I suppose there’s nothing I can do. Next time, if the opportunity arises, please make time for me?”
