Upon hearing the news that Director Go Eun Mi had visited the Liam Art Museum, Jun Won came home carrying some snacks. Ji Hoo, having woken up from a nap, seemed in a much better mood than earlier.

“In cartoons, there’s always a villain or a witch, right? Just think of her as someone like that.”

At Jun Won’s playful remark, Ji Hoo, who had been quietly sucking on a lollipop, nodded.

“Ji Hoo, did that woman say anything to you?”

Unable to shake an uneasy feeling, Ha Yeon asked carefully. But the boy, whose eyes had flickered for a moment, only shook his head.

Though she couldn’t press Ji Hoo further and thus held back from saying more, Ha Yeon still felt oddly unsettled.

“If there’s anything you want to talk about, tell me anytime. I’ll handle it for you—no problem.”

Ha Yeon declared confidently, as if she were a master problem-solver, hoping this would help the boy open up and share his true feelings without hesitation.

“I’ll take care of that person myself.”

Jun Won demonstrated an elaborate hand motion, mimicking the takedown of a thug. Had she not known about his actual fighting skills, she might have laughed it off as mere playacting—but now, it seemed entirely plausible, so she couldn’t bring herself to laugh freely.

“Take care of? What do you mean, ‘take care of’?”

Min Je, who had briefly stepped out, entered the living room looking curious, apparently having overheard Jun Won’s words.

“There is one. A truly terrifying witch.”

Ji Hoo whispered, as if revealing a secret, then snickered.

“Huh? A witch?”
