A short while later, the two stepped out of the café.

The hands that hadn’t been holding each other when they entered were now tightly clasped as they exited.

To be precise, ever since he interlaced their fingers earlier, Joo Won hadn’t let go of Lee I Na’s hand even once.

He’d held her hand throughout their conversation, occasionally stroking her little finger and smiling softly—each time sending electric tingles rushing through Lee I Na’s heart.

Outside, the surroundings had already grown dark, streetlights glowing here and there.

At 7 p.m., the Han River shimmered like a canvas scattered with jewels, reflecting the myriad lights from surrounding buildings.

Lee I Na’s heart sparkled just as brightly as she gazed at the glittering river.

Right at this moment, the handsome man firmly holding her hand felt rarer and more beautiful than any jewel in the world.

Overwhelmed with emotion, Lee I Na looked up at Joo Won with a faint blush and a tender smile—and Joo Won gazed back down at her with an equally sweet smile.

When they reached the car, Joo Won opened the passenger door for her and finally released Lee I Na’s hand, which he’d been holding the entire time.

The instant their hands parted, Lee I Na felt a slight pang of disappointment—but then shyly smiled, thinking she’d get to hold it as much as she wanted from now on.

After walking around to the driver’s side and getting in, Joo Won reached for Lee I Na’s hand as she tried to fasten her seatbelt, then slowly leaned forward.

Startled by the sudden closeness, Lee I Na momentarily stopped breathing.

Joo Won came so close that his face was right before her wide eyes, then grinned and gently pulled the passenger seatbelt toward himself while staring straight into her eyes.
