“What? Vulgar?”

“Yes! What? Leech off? Leech off of what? Is your mind filled with only such dirty thoughts?”

“This is really…”

Jeonghun glared at Ina with a sharp voice.

“And you, didn’t I clearly tell you this morning not to come looking for me again? But why are you here causing this ruckus again? This ruckus?”

“This morning?”

Juwon, who had been standing behind until now, pulled Ina’s arm to place her next to him and asked.

“This bastard came to see you this morning?”

At Juwon’s murderous-sounding question, Jeonghun looked back and forth between the two with an incredulous face and laughed in disbelief.

“Ha. These guys… Are they really crazy? These dirty cheating bastards…”

But before Jeonghun could even finish his words, Juwon grabbed his wrist and twisted it.

“Argh.”

Holding onto the wrist of the screaming Jeonghun, Juwon growled.

“I just told you to watch your mouth, didn’t I?”

“Hey! You crazy bastard! Let go!”

At Jeonghun’s loud shouting, Ina was startled and looked up at the villa.

It seemed as if someone would open the window and look down at any moment.

Ina hurriedly stopped Juwon and shook off Jeonghun’s wrist.

Staggering and pushed back, Jeonghun looked back and forth between the two with furious eyes.

“You guys are totally… both crazy? Hey! Seo Ina! You knew this bastard even before dating me, right? You were two-timing while acting all high and mighty? Hey! Since when have you known this bastard? Tell me!”

As Juwon tried to grab Jeonghun by the collar as he ranted, Ina quickly blocked him and glared at Jeonghun.

“Hey! What does it matter to you since when we’ve known each other?”

“What? We? We~?”

Jeonghun asked back with his eyes wide open.

“Yes! We!”

“Ha! Yes! You’re finally spilling it out? Since when? Since when have you known each other? Tell me!”

“10 years!”

Jeonghun’s eyes grew huge at Ina’s shouting.

“What? 10… 10 years?”

Jeonghun stared at Ina with an unbelievable face.

“Yes! I’ve liked this person for 10 years. What are you going to do about it?”

Jeonghun’s eyes bulged out as if they would pop out at Ina’s words.

Juwon was equally surprised by the sudden lines.

As Juwon glanced sideways at Ina, she continued her lines.

“10 years ago, I liked this person and made a move on him. We dated for 3 years. Then he had to immigrate and we inevitably broke up. I spent 7 years shedding tears of longing. I tried everything to forget him but I couldn’t. After that, I lived like a wreck, and it was out of loneliness that I met you. But I must have been crazy. No matter how lonely, I couldn’t even tell shit from soybean paste and dated someone like you.”

“Wha, what the hell are you saying?”

Jeonghun’s lips trembled.

And right next to them, Juwon’s eyes narrowed as he watched Ina’s wholehearted acting.

Seo Ina… had this kind of talent?

Was her childhood dream to be an acting prodigy?

Her flawless acting almost fooled even Juwon himself for a moment.

But quickly coming to his senses, Juwon looked at Ina in front of him.

He had to help Ina who was glaring at Jeonghun with furious eyes somehow.

As he hesitated on what to do, Ina suddenly raised her left hand and tightly grabbed Juwon’s right hand.

And both Jeonghun and Juwon simultaneously looked at that hand.

Jeonghun with furious eyes, and Juwon with puzzled eyes.

“But thanks to you, I miraculously got to meet this person again. I didn’t even know he had come back to Korea, but he said he arrived that day. In the evening, on the way to meet friends, some trash was dragging a woman away so I helped her. But that turned out to be me. Isn’t it amazing? You know what they call this? It’s called destiny.”

Finishing her words, Ina squeezed the hand holding Juwon’s.

But unlike her bold delivery, Ina’s hand trembled slightly.

So Juwon slowly intertwined his fingers with Ina’s one by one and warmly clasped her hand.

As Ina looked up at Juwon with widened eyes, he smiled with the corners of his mouth turned up.

And seeing that, Jeonghun let out a hollow laugh.

“Ha… These guys, really…”

Jeonghun, messing up his hair while laughing, truly looked like he had lost his mind.

“What? Destiny… what?”

“Yes. Destiny. 10 years ago, it was a destiny I made with my own will, but this time, it’s a destiny fulfilled thanks to you.”

At Ina’s words, Jeonghun shouted with bloodshot eyes.

“What? Destiny? So are you happy with that? Happy that it’s destiny? So you didn’t even come home all weekend because you were rolling around with this bastard? Huh?”

Juwon rushed in and grabbed Jeonghun by the collar in an instant.

Just as he was about to throw a punch with furious eyes, Ina hugged Juwon’s waist from behind and shouted.

“Honey. Don’t!”

At Ina’s cry, Juwon’s fist that was about to strike the air stopped, and Jeonghun stared at Ina with a soul-drained face.

As Juwon looked down at Ina hugging his waist, she shook her head and said,

“He’s not even worth hitting. Don’t. Honey.”

Looking down at Ina’s dark brown eyes as she whispered, Juwon slowly lowered his fist.

And watching that scene, Jeonghun began laughing like a madman.

“Ha, hahaha. Honey? He became honey already? Hahaha!”

Regardless, Ina detached her arms from Juwon’s waist and glared at Jeonghun with fierce eyes.

“You, this is the last warning. If you come looking for me again after this, I’ll find the CCTV footage from that day and report you for dating violence. How much you obsessed over me and suffocated me while we were dating, I’ll bring witnesses if needed. So don’t ever show that face again.”

Ina looked at the dazed Jeonghun like he was a bug and pulled Juwon’s hand.

After glaring at Jeonghun one more time, Juwon walked away with Ina.

But before the two could take more than a few steps, Jeonghun yelled.

“Hey!”

As Ina turned around with an irritated face, Jeonghun pointed at her trembling with outrage.

“You… how could you do this? I… I never even brought you home… but this, this bastard, you brought him home right after reuniting? You sly bitch…”

But before Jeonghun could even finish, Juwon strode over and kicked Jeonghun’s shin with all his might.

“Ack!”

Jeonghun grabbed his shin with a red face and hopped around before collapsing on the ground.

Unable to even scream in pain, Juwon looked down at Jeonghun with a cold face.

“If you shit-talk about Ina one more time, know that I’ll kick your mouth next time.”

Jeonghun flinched for a moment at Juwon’s giant figure looking down at him with a threatening face.

After glaring at Jeonghun with icy eyes, Juwon held Ina’s hand and turned around to walk towards the villa entrance.

Jeonghun, who seemed like he would chase after them and rant again, didn’t take any action.

The two silently got on the elevator holding hands.

But once they were actually in the elevator, the sense of reality they had forgotten came right back.

Ina bit her lip and glanced at Juwon with an embarrassed heart, only to see him looking ahead with a stiff expression.

So Ina lowered her gaze and looked at her hand tightly holding Juwon’s.

It was time to let go now…

But suddenly releasing it would be awkward too, she thought, and then the elevator arrived at the 3rd floor.

The two got off the elevator without a word.

And only then did Juwon smoothly let go of Ina’s hand and walked over to the villa window to look down.

Ina also followed Juwon and looked out the window.

Limping as he got up, Jeonghun could be seen trembling as he returned to his car.

But for some reason, the car didn’t start right away.

It seemed he was just sitting there without even turning on the engine.

Ina could easily picture him grinding his teeth and shaking with rage even without seeing.

And since Jeonghun saw them holding hands and coming up together, Juwon couldn’t go back right away either.

Lost in thought for a moment, Ina carefully spoke to Juwon who was glaring at Jeonghun’s car with furrowed brows.

“Hey, Juwon…”

Juwon turned his head at Ina’s voice and looked at her.

“Hey… want to go inside and have a cup of coffee or something?”

Juwon nodded his head without a word after gazing at Ina.

“Sure. Then give me a cup.”

Ina went to the front door and quickly did some mental gymnastics as she scanned her key card.

I cleaned once last night after coming home, and tidied up a bit this morning before leaving, so it should be fine, right?

Giving herself the OK, Ina opened the front door.

“Come in.”

Taking off her shoes first, Ina spoke to Juwon.

“Okay. Then excuse me.”

Juwon took off his dress shoes and stepped into the living room.

Having Juwon actually come up to the living room made Ina feel strange.

It was the first time bringing a man to her place where she lived alone.

Her younger cousin Youngmin occasionally came to sleep over, but Juwon was just an adult man, so she felt nervous for some reason.

Oblivious to Ina’s feelings, Juwon casually looked around the house.

It was a cozy and neat house at a glance.

Little decorations were placed here and there to adorn the house.

That cute atmosphere somehow seemed to suit Ina well.

“Hey… what kind of coffee should I give you? There’s black and there’s mix…”

Ina carefully asked Juwon.

“Black. Thanks.”

“Okay. Then have a seat for a moment.”

Ina put down her handbag and went to the kitchen.

As Juwon was sitting on the sofa, Ina brought the coffee after a while.

“Here.”

Handing a cup to Juwon, Ina also took a cup of coffee and sat next to him.

“Thanks.”

Juwon took the cup and took a sip of the coffee.

Ina also took a sip after smelling the subtle coffee aroma, then carefully opened her mouth after a moment.

“Hey… Juwon. I’m sorry.”

Juwon turned his head and looked at Ina.

“For what?”

“You know… for making up all that stuff earlier to Park Jeonghun, saying whatever came to mind… I’m really sorry.”

“You’re really good at acting. I was almost drawn in too for a moment. As if we really were lovers reuniting after 10 years.”

As Juwon said with the corners of his mouth lifted, Ina’s cheeks suddenly felt hot.

Embarrassed, she was looking for a nonexistent mouse hole with her eyes when Juwon continued.

“But 10 years ago is when we were high school seniors, you know? That jerk would say – these kids, instead of studying, they were fooling around dating.”

Finding his own joke funny, Juwon chuckled.

At those words, Ina also laughed, realizing he was right.

After finishing his coffee, Juwon went out to the balcony to look down, and Ina followed him.

Jeonghun’s car was still parked in the same spot.

“Why hasn’t he left yet?”

Ina said with a frown.

“I want to go down and chase him away right now, but it’s too late. It must have been noisy because of us earlier too.”

“You’re right. It’s too late.”

After silently looking down for a while, Juwon spoke to Ina.

“So I was thinking, can I sleep here tonight?”
