Saturday came.
Exhausted from the department dinner that lasted until midnight the previous day, Ina slept like the dead and didn’t wake up until almost 10 am.
After a quick breakfast, she opened the windows wide and meticulously cleaned every corner of the house.
After an hour of intense cleaning, a worn-out Ina made herself a refreshing cup of coffee and sat on the sofa.
While mindlessly watching TV and sipping her coffee, Ina checked the time and headed to the bathroom for a quick shower.
By the time she dried her hair and sat down at her dressing table to do her makeup, it was already 1 pm.
As she opened her earring box, Ina spotted the two pairs of earrings Jiwon had bought for her in Samcheong-dong. Touching them brought back memories of that day, of her heart racing uncontrollably and her face flushing red when she nearly embraced Jiwon.
Feeling her face redden again at the memory, Ina quickly shook her head, put down the earrings, and picked up a pair of pearl earrings instead. She felt she should wear Jiwon’s earrings only when she met him.
As Ina was almost ready to go out, her phone rang. It was Siwoo.
“I was again…” Ina muttered to herself, startled by her own reaction.

“What’s this? Was I expecting a call from Jiwon? Ridiculous, Ina,” she said with a sheepish smile and answered the phone.
“Hello?”
[Dash] Hey, Ina. It’s me, Siwoo.“Hi, Siwoo.”
[Dash] I’m about to leave. Have you left yet?“No, I’m about to.”
[Dash] I could pick you up since it’s nearby.Ina had declined Siwoo’s offer to pick her up from her house when he told her the movie time on Wednesday evening, finding it too burdensome.
“No, it’s just a short bus ride. Let’s meet at the theater.”
[Dash] Okay, then. See you there.ads
After hanging up, Ina checked herself in the mirror one last time, put on a light pink jacket, grabbed her bag, and left.
A little later, Ina got off the bus and walked leisurely to the theater.
Upon arriving at the theater and taking the elevator to the fourth floor where the ticket counters were, she saw the crowd typical of a weekend.
Among them, Siwoo stood out distinctly.
Approaching Siwoo, who was engrossed in a movie pamphlet, he turned his head and noticed her.
“Did you just get here?”
Greeting her with a crescent moon-like smile, Siwoo looked like a refreshing dose of vitamin. His nickname ‘Smile Angel’ seemed more fitting than ever.
“Yeah, just arrived. And you?”
“I just got here too.”
“Okay.”

“Have you bought the tickets already? Want to get something to eat, like popcorn?”
Usually, Ina would have enthusiastically agreed, but today, she didn’t feel like having popcorn at all.
“No, I’m good. If you want to eat, go ahead.”
“Actually, I usually don’t eat anything while watching a movie. Shall we get something to drink, then?”
“Yeah, let’s do that.”
The two bought a couple of ade drinks and then took the escalator up to theater 5 on the second floor.
As Ina and Siwoo ascended the escalator side by side, she suddenly remembered going to the movies with Jiwon. Back then, the escalator was too narrow, so they had to ride it one at a time…
Ina recalled how she had turned to hand Jiwon some popcorn and the way he had taken it, a moment that had been incredibly impactful, causing her heart to flutter.
It must have started from then… the way her heart would leap every time she saw Jiwon…
Ina sighed deeply to herself, overwhelmed by the sudden rush of thoughts about Jiwon. Unlike her, Siwoo seemed quite happy, smiling pleasantly all this while.
They entered theater 5 and walked side by side up to row K. As Ina was about to go in first, Siwoo gently grabbed her arm.

“Ina, do you mind if I go in first?”
“Huh? Oh, sure.”
After Siwoo entered, Ina followed and noticed two men sitting next to Siwoo’s seat. She was reminded of when she went to the theater with Jiwon, who had also chosen to sit first.
‘So, was that why Jiwon insisted on going in first that time…’
As she sat down, she fingered her lips, pondering, ‘Could it be… he was bothered by other men sitting next to me?’
Narrowing her eyes at this thought, she involuntarily swallowed. However, she couldn’t immediately dismiss the idea with ‘Nah, why would Jiwon care about something like that?’
Recalling Jiwon’s gaze at the earring shop in Samcheong-dong and the way he came to pick her up immediately on Tuesday, she couldn’t easily counter her thoughts.
‘Could it really be that Jiwon…’
Before she could finish her thought, her face suddenly flushed with the enormity of the assumption.
Her heart started pounding as if Jiwon was right there in front of her.

“Are you okay?”
Startled by Siwoo’s sudden voice, Ina snapped back to reality.
“Huh?”
As she turned, Siwoo looked at her curiously.
“Your face suddenly turned red. Are you feeling unwell?”
“Oh? No, I think it’s just a bit warm in here.”
“That’s good then.”
Relieved, Siwoo nodded. Embarrassed, Ina quickly turned her gaze forward and took a sip of her ade.

The young master had slightly reddened eyes, and his every move exuded charm.
The sight made Li Ruantang’s eyes hot and her heart flutter. After all, she had made a bet with the young master Meng from the neighboring family. If she couldn’t marry a husband before the end of the year, she would have to admit defeat and give up the jade she had worked so hard to obtain.
Outside the window, the flowers were in full bloom.
Rather than losing the bet, the jade, and her face, Li Ruantang calculated that it would be better to seek marriage with the young master in front of her, killing three birds with one stone.
…
Meng Jun never thought that an accident during a spring outing would lead to them rolling down a cliff and into a river, yet still survive.
Now they were trapped in an unknown village, and Meng Jun had overheard that the family who had rescued them had their own intentions.
After all, it was Li Ruantang who had lost her mind and sought marriage first. He was only trying to protect himself!
Glancing at Li Ruantang, who was listing her own merits, the young husband’s voice softened, and he blushed as he lied, “W-wife-master, Wife-master, don’t you remember me?”
The young husband’s voice was clear and handsome, coaxing Li Ruantang’s heart to be soft and sweet, and she spared no effort to protect him.
It wasn’t until they returned to the capital that Li Ruantang suddenly remembered.
When they had fallen off the cliff, in order not to implicate Wei Yunruo, whom he secretly admired, the young husband had instead pulled her, who was slightly farther away, down the cliff with him…
