Eun Chae gave Juwon the address, and they set off.
The homemade burger place was bustling on Sunday afternoon. Eun Chae and Juwon managed to find a seat.
“I’ll order. You stay here.”
Eun Chae stopped Juwon, who was about to take out his wallet, and hurried to the counter.
She ordered the most popular couple set and, after about 20 minutes, the buzzer rang. Juwon stood up, went to the counter, and returned with two trays.
As Juwon placed the trays on the table, Eun Chae gazed at the burgers in awe.
“Juwon, isn’t this amazing? This place is so famous, it’s been featured in magazines.”
“Yeah, it looks good.”
Juwon nodded and sipped his ade.
Eun Chae picked up a fry, tasted it, and offered one to Juwon.

“Try this. Their fries are much better than other places.”
Juwon, sipping his ade, accepted the fry and tried it.
“Yeah, it’s good.”
“Now, try the burger. The patty is really thick.”
Juwon picked up the burger and took a big bite. After chewing a few times, he nodded approvingly.
“Yeah, it’s really thick and tasty.”
“Right? Tasty, isn’t it? I sometimes come here for these delicious burgers,” Eun Chae said.
Ina laughed brightly and took a bite of her burger.
Savoring the juicy meat patty and fresh vegetables in her mouth, Ina smiled blissfully.
“Ah, it really tastes too good.”
A small amount of burger sauce was smeared near Ina’s lips, still wearing a beaming smile.

Jiwon took out a napkin and handed it to Ina gently.
“Huh? Did I get some on me?”
Ina asked, her eyes wide with surprise.
“Just a little here.”
Jiwon said, smiling and pointing to the right side of Ina’s lips.
“I always seem to get sauce on my face when I eat burgers,” Ina said, embarrassed but laughing as she brought the napkin to her mouth.
Jiwon chuckled at the sight.
After eating their burgers, the two entered the cinema.
As soon as they got their tickets, Ina grabbed Jiwon’s arm and pointed towards the snack bar.
“Let’s go buy the Combo No. 3 now.”

Jiwon looked at Ina with a look of wonder.
“We just ate burgers, and you still have room for that?”
“Of course, there’s always room for popcorn.”
Jiwon glanced at Ina’s stomach, slightly tilting his head.
“Hey, where are you looking?”
Ina covered her adorably small stomach with both hands.
“Popcorn and such are quickly eaten while watching a movie, you know?”
Determined to get the Combo No. 3, Ina’s will was met with Jiwon’s chuckling nod.
“Okay. Got it. Let’s eat. Combo No. 3.”
Jiwon handed his card to the staff and placed the order.
Soon, Jiwon held two cups of cola and nachos, while Ina received a large popcorn bucket.
The sweet scent of caramel popcorn wafted up.
Ina savored the delightful aroma.
The two headed to the escalator to go up to the 6th floor, where Screen 3 was located.
Since the escalator was narrow, allowing only one person at a time, Ina went up first, followed by Jiwon.
Standing a step higher, Ina ate a popcorn kernel and looked satisfied.
Then she turned around to look at Jiwon.
Their eye level was almost equal, with Jiwon standing a step below.
“Try it. It’s good.”
Jiwon gazed at the popcorn Ina offered, then looked at her.

“It’s good, you know?”
Urged by Ina to try, Jiwon leaned forward.
As he slightly tilted his head and opened his lips, Ina’s eyes widened.
She had expected him to take it with his hand, but his face came closer, and the sight seemed momentarily seductive.
As Jiwon’s lips slowly reached to take the popcorn, his lips lightly touched Ina’s fingertips.
Suddenly, Ina felt a tingling sensation as if she were electrocuted.
Quickly hiding her trembling fingers, Ina turned her body forward.
‘What’s with this tingling sensation?’
And as her heart started pounding wildly, Ina’s nostrils flared.
‘Why is my heart going crazy? Hey, are you insane?’

Wishing she could take out her heart and scold it, Ina quickly stepped off the escalator.
Following her, Jiwon looked down at Ina, whose face was flushed.
“What’s wrong?”
“Huh? It’s nothing!”
Startled, Ina quickly replied and shook her head.
Avoiding Jiwon’s curious gaze, Ina hurried into Screen 3.
Jiwon tilted his head and followed Ina up to row N.
Just as Ina was about to enter, Jiwon noticed two men sitting next to their seats. He gently pulled Ina’s arm.
“Hm?”
Ina looked at him, and Jiwon motioned that he would go in first.
“Oh? Uh, okay.”

As Ina stepped aside, Jiwon took the seat first, and then Ina sat next to him.
For some reason, Jiwon didn’t like the idea of Ina sitting next to those men.
While Jiwon was smiling contentedly, a couple came to row N shortly after. The man sat next to Ina, and the woman took the seat next to him.
Jiwon frowned at this.
‘Changed seats and yet another guy sits next to her?’
Watching the couple with dissatisfaction, Jiwon wondered if he should reserve a couples’ seat next time, then he was startled by his own thought.
He was surprised that he naturally thought of a couples’ seat, even though Ina wasn’t his girlfriend.
Looking at Ina with a somewhat dazed expression, Ina felt Jiwon’s gaze and turned to look at him. She then gave him a bright smile.
At that smile, Jiwon’s heart skipped a beat.
Thump, thump, thump, thump…

In that moment, the budding feelings he had been unknowingly nurturing blossomed.
And Jiwon realized.
That he was in love with this girl with the beautiful chestnut-colored eyes.
Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day
It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!
This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.
The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.
Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.
If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.
It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.
The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.
In the end, everything will come together and be explained.
One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!
In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.
Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.
However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.
Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.
Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?
——
Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.
His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.
Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”
——
The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.
Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!
Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!
The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…
——
But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.
The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.
She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…
Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”
Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”
Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?
[Small Theater]
The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.
Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”
Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.
Zhu Wansheng: ?
Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…
On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.
Warm breath lingers on her neck.
“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
