“Oh? Uh… I…”
Eun Chae was caught off guard by the unexpected question and struggled to find words. Siwoo chuckled lightly.
“Just kidding. It was a joke. I just asked playfully, but you seemed so flustered I started feeling sorry.”
“Ah, it was a joke? I thought you were seriously asking…”
“You thought I had a serious case of the crazies, didn’t you?”
“No! I never thought that.”
Eun Chae vehemently denied it, her face turning red, which made Siwoo laugh heartily.
“Eun Chae, you’re easy to tease, aren’t you?”
“No, I’m not…”
Despite her words, Eun Chae’s face was as red as a tomato, and Siwoo, with amusement in his eyes, asked her gently.

“Can you make some time next week?”
“Next week?”
“Yeah. I was thinking of having a meal with you and Hyun Ju.”
“Oh, a meal…”
“Yes. Can you check with Hyun Ju? Any day but Friday works for me.”
“Okay, I’ll ask her and let you know.”
“Great.”
Siwoo smiled contentedly, finishing his coffee, and Eun Chae did the same.
Later, Siwoo walked Eun Chae to her apartment building.
“Eun Chae, I really enjoyed meeting you today.”

“Yeah, me too.”
Eun Chae reached out her hand, and Siwoo’s large hand gently enveloped hers, radiating warmth.
“Take care, and enjoy the rest of your weekend. Have fun at the movies too.”
“Yeah, you too. Take care.”
“See you next week. Go on in now.”
“Okay, I’ll go in first.”
Eun Chae waved goodbye and turned into the building. After she entered, Siwoo stood looking at the building for a moment before walking away.
Sunday morning arrived.
Eun Chae got up at 9 and had toast and coffee, settling on the sofa. Just as she was about to turn on the TV, her phone rang. It was Hyun Ju.
“Hello?”

“Yeah, just woke up. But why are you calling so early?”
[Hyun Ju] Hey, you have to report what happened after I left yesterday.“What report?”
[Hyun Ju] About you and Siwoo. I was dying of curiosity last night.“What happened? We just had coffee and then parted ways.”
[Hyun Ju] Hmm… really? Siwoo didn’t say anything special?“Nothing special. Just chatted and left.”
[Hyun Ju] Weird. But okay, maybe Siwoo’s not the type to rush things.“What do you mean rush things? Are you going to start with your weird theories again?”
[Hyun Ju] Okay, okay. Did Siwoo say anything about meeting up again?“He suggested we have dinner next Tuesday or Thursday, the three of us.”
[Hyun Ju] Dinner?“Yeah. When are you free?”
[Hyun Ju] Hmm… Is this a way to make sure it’s not just the two of you?“Hey, Hyun Ju.”
[Hyun Ju] Okay, okay. So, let’s meet on Tuesday. What are you doing today? Want to have lunch if you’re free?“No, I have plans.”
[Hyun Ju] Plans? With who?“I’m going to see a movie with Juwon.”

Eun Chae preempted any wild speculation from Hyun Ju.
“Don’t start with your assumptions. He helped me a lot recently, so I’m treating him to a movie.”
[Hyun Ju] But how can I not make assumptions? It’s a golden weekend, and two people of the opposite sex are going to a movie.“You don’t like zombie movies. We’re just going to see a zombie movie.”
“No, well, it’s true I don’t watch them, but still… there’s something fishy about this.”
“Hey, if you keep talking nonsense, I’m going to hang up.”
[Audible sigh from Hyun Ju] Okay, okay. Anyway, enjoy the movie, and remember to summon Juwon soon, okay? This sister needs to meet him and see for herself.”Before Eun Chae could say anything, Hyun Ju quickly said goodbye and hung up.
Feeling a bit overwhelmed, Eun Chae shook her head and sipped her coffee.
As 10:30 approached, Eun Chae quickly showered and dried her hair. She had planned to wear a new skirt, but Hyun Ju’s comment about ‘a man and a woman on a weekend’ made her change her mind. She opted for a light pink knit with black jeans and did her makeup simply. While putting on her earrings, Juwon called.

“Hello?”
[Juwon] I’ll be there in about 5 minutes. Can you come down?“Yeah, okay.”
Eun Chae went downstairs just as Juwon’s car pulled up.
She opened the passenger door and turned to greet Juwon. To her surprise, his usually styled hair was naturally down, and he was wearing a white tee with a beige cardigan, looking refreshingly handsome.
“Why are you staring at me like that?”
Juwon asked, noticing Eun Chae’s intense gaze.
“Uh? Oh… You look kind of pretty today.”
“……What?”
Juwon asked in disbelief.

“No, with your hair down and dressed like this… you look very fresh.”
Juwon narrowed his eyes at her.
“Fresh… as in?”
“Yeah. Fresh and pretty.”
Juwon blinked robotically and then said to Eun Chae.
“Isn’t that something… usually said from a man to a woman?”
“Can’t men be pretty and fresh?”
Eun Chae chuckled in response.
Juwon cleared his throat and looked ahead.
“Have you thought about what to eat?”

“What about you? Anything you want?”
“No preference. Let’s have whatever you feel like.”
“Then, um… there’s a place near the cinema that makes great homemade burgers. Shall we go there?”
“Sure. Let’s do that.”
My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband
This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.
The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.
They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.
In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.
When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.
She makes his life a living hell.
And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.
Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!
Intro
Dong Xia lost her memory.
Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”
Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.
…
The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.
She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.
Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.
No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!
Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂
*
Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.
The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.
In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.
The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.
And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.
Notes:
1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.
2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
