It was Youngmin.
When Ina got up from the bed, she answered the phone while patting her waist.
“Hello?”
-Oh, Noona. I’m walking to the subway station right now; it’ll take about an hour. Should I buy something?
“Oh? No, we have beer and everything here, so just come.”
-Sure. Got it. Your boyfriend is there too, right?
“Um… Yes.”
-Really curious. It’s my first time seeing your boyfriend, Noona.
Listening to Youngmin’s excited voice, Ina glanced at Juwon and saw him looking at the phone with a sullen expression.
Surprised, Ina quickly averted her gaze.

“Oh. Okay. Got it. I’ll be waiting. Come slowly.”
After hanging up the phone, Ina quickly got up from the bed.
“It’ll take an hour. Get up. I need to tidy up here a bit.”
Reluctantly, Juwon got off the bed.
After a while, Ina, who had finished tidying up the bedroom, came out to the living room after double-checking Youngmin’s room.
“When Youngmin comes later, be kind to him. Got it?”
“That kid is something.”
“Oh, really!”
Ina hit Juwon’s arm with an expression that couldn’t be stopped.
About an hour and ten minutes later, the doorbell rang.

Ina, who quickly got up, walked to the front door with a delighted face.
When she opened the door, Youngmin smiled brightly and warmly hugged Ina.
“Noona! It’s really been a long time.”
“Yeah. It really has.”
“What the heck is this…”
As Youngmin was speaking, he suddenly noticed a tall, sculpted man behind Ina.
Raising his eyebrows, Youngmin looked up at Juwon, who emitted a cool aura, piercingly staring at him.
Wow… Amazing! Seriously! He’s handsome!
Youngmin opened his mouth wide, looking up at Juwon, while Juwon, with an uncomfortable look, said to Youngmin.
“A hug should be enough…”

At the chilly words from the sculpture, Youngmin reflexively let go of the hug.
Then, with a absent-minded face, he stared intently at Juwon’s face.
It was an expression as if he had fallen in love at first sight, like Romeo seeing Juliet.
Ina, who sensed a strange atmosphere, quickly snapped her fingers at the absent-minded Youngmin.
Upon that, Youngmin, who came to his senses, looked alternately at Ina and Juwon.
“Youngmin, this is my friend who is the same age as me, Im Juwon. Say hello.”
“Oh. Nice to meet you? Hyung?”
Youngmin bowed at a 90-degree angle, confidently greeting.
“And this is my cousin, Kim Youngmin. He’s 25.”
“Hello.”

Juwon exchanged a glance with a nod.
“Hyung! Nice to meet you.”
Youngmin suddenly extended both hands and firmly shook Juwon’s hand.
Startled by the sudden gesture, Ina widened her eyes.
“Since he’s Noona’s boyfriend, can I call you hyung too?”
In Youngmin’s idol-like admiring eyes, Juwon responded with an indifferent voice.
“Well… I’m not Noona’s brother, so no.”
“Ahahaha! Our hyungnim! Even your humor is totally my style, you know?”
Youngmin laughed while shaking hands with Juwon.
With a vigorous shake, Ina quickly pulled Youngmin’s hand away when Juwon responded with a cool smile.
“Let’s not stand here doing this. Let’s go inside quickly.”

Ina pushed the two men into the living room.
“Um, it’s the first time I’ve seen Noona’s boyfriend, and I didn’t expect to meet such a cool person… Noona hit the jackpot, didn’t she?”
Youngmin, sitting on the sofa, looked around at Juwon.
“I hit the jackpot, not Ina.”
Wearing a natural smile, Juwon answered, putting his arm casually around Ina’s waist.
With an awkward smile, Ina quickly removed Youngmin’s hand.
“Youngmin, let’s have dinner. What do you want to eat? Do you have any preferences?”
Youngmin looked at Juwon when Ina asked the question.
“Hyungnim, what do you like? I eat everything, so let’s go with what hyungnim likes. Us.”
Ignoring Ina as if she didn’t matter, Youngmin, looking only at Juwon, read love in his eyes.

Oh my, is this Kim Youngmin a complete fanboy?
Unable to stop herself, Ina shook her head, and Juwon, with an indifferent expression, glanced at Youngmin.
“I’m fine, so let’s go with what Mr. Youngmin wants.”
At the mention of ‘Mr. Youngmin,’ Youngmin was surprised, raising both hands.
“Hyungnim! Please don’t call me Mr. Youngmin! Just speak comfortably. I’m only 4 years younger.”
Juwon, with a puppy-like expression, smiled brightly at Youngmin as if he would extend his hand at any moment.
Then, with a fist bump, Juwon said, “Shall we? Then, speak comfortably. Choose the dinner menu quickly. Ina and I are getting hungry.”
After a brief silence, Ina turned her head to look at Juwon.
Seeing Ina’s face turning red due to the blatant affection in front of Youngmin, Juwon suddenly laughed loudly.
“Ahahaha! Our hyungnim! You’re a total romantic, huh? Noona! Noona must have saved the nation in her past life!”

Youngmin, laughing like a girl, playfully hit Ina’s arm.
Then, Juwon reached out, holding Youngmin’s hand.
“We shouldn’t hit Ina, right? And I must have saved the nation, not her. Maybe I was an independence activist in my past life?”
At Juwon’s words, Youngmin, with a dazed face, looked at Juwon again.
Embarrassed, Ina quickly led the two men outside, saying they should leave.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
