“What did Suji say?”
As Heeyeong hung up the phone, Minwoo, who was sitting across from him, quickly asked.
“Oh, she’s nearby. She said she could join for the second round.”
“Oh, really?”
When Minwoo asked with sparkling eyes, the eyes of the other male colleagues also gleamed.
“Yeah, she’ll be here in about twenty minutes.”
Upon hearing this, Minwoo couldn’t hide his excitement, revealing a wide grin.
“Wow. It’s been so long since we’ve seen Suji. Feels like it’s been a few years, doesn’t it?”
“Right. She didn’t attend any gatherings for three years.”
Excitement filled the air, and the male colleagues had eager expressions.

Only Hojun, with a slightly uneasy expression, continued to smirk at Juwon.
Ignoring the gaze, Juwon, who was silently bringing the glass to his mouth, looked at Hojun and said, “Stop staring. I don’t appreciate the looks from a guy.”
In response to Juwon’s words, Hojun made an awkward cough and brought the glass to his mouth.
During their college days, Hojun, who was the closest to Juwon, knew more about the relationship between Suji and Juwon than anyone else.
Even though it might be an exaggeration to say he knew almost everything, he couldn’t help but be concerned about Suji’s upcoming appearance.
“Hey, we’ve almost finished eating, so let’s go for the second round. Hurry up and get up. Give me the membership fee.”
At Miran’s words, everyone got up from their seats and handed the membership fee to Miran.
Juwon also took out his wallet, and Hojun tapped Juwon.
“Hey, Juwon. Are you going for the second round?”
Looking at the money, Juwon looked at Hojun.

“Well, aren’t you going?”
“No? Of course, I am, you punk!”
“But why ask?”
“Just asked. You punk!”
Hojun, feeling embarrassed, playfully tapped Juwon’s arm again and spoke.
“Hey, guys. How about going to the HOF we went to last time for the second round? What do you think?”
There were nods and positive responses from everywhere.
Leaving the Japanese restaurant, the colleagues moved to a nearby HOF.
After finally securing seats and placing three tables side by side, Heeyeong and Miran quickly placed an order.
After a while, 500cc beers were served successively, and the colleagues raised their glasses for a cheer.

While exchanging various stories, the eyes of the male colleagues kept turning toward the door.
Although no one expressed it openly, they were all hoping for the door to open soon and Suji to walk in.
Throughout her time at school, Suji was recognized as a beauty to the extent that she even served as a promotional model for the university.
With a beautiful face and an ideal figure, she was known as the goddess of the business department, gaining popularity.
Especially when she smiled, her enchanting crescent-shaped eyes captivated numerous men, making them fall for her charm.
However, everyone could only imagine Suji as a lover from a distance.
Throughout the four years, Suji had a well-off senior by her side for two years.
The senior was devoted to Suji, and the two continued their romantic relationship amid everyone’s envy.
However, for some reason, Suji broke up with that senior upon graduation, and the male colleagues began to feel a glimmer of hope.
So, they actively attended alumni gatherings to see Suji…
However, not long after, news spread that Juwon and Suji became a couple, causing another wave of despair.

Why do the successful ones always end up with the successful ones?
That day, the male colleagues shared bitter soju, tasting the bitterness of defeat.
However, three years ago in the fall, the two broke up, and since then, Suji hadn’t attended any alumni gatherings.
Why they broke up, who initiated the breakup—no one knew for sure. Nevertheless, men were men, and women were women, each carrying a faint expectation deep in their hearts.
And today, after three years, the hearts of the male colleagues were all fluttering at the thought of seeing the goddess of the Business Department again.
Except for one heart, that of Lee Juwon.
After gorging themselves at the Japanese restaurant, while chatting, they wondered why the appetizers disappeared so quickly and marveled at how Miran was about to order more when the bell on the door of the HOF rang, echoing as the door opened.
As if by an agreed signal, all the male colleagues turned their gaze toward the door.
At the end of their gaze, the appearance of Suji made everyone’s faces brighten.
Except for one person—Lee Juwon’s heart.

While shaking hands with everyone, as Suji approached, all the male colleagues’ hearts began to throb with excitement.
Only one heart, Lee Juwon’s, was an exception.
Wearing an ivory-colored snug knit dress, brown knee-high boots, and a cream-colored long coat, Suji was the epitome of a goddess.
Suji, who noticed this side, brightly smiled and walked towards them. As she approached, hearts began to pour out of the eyes of the male colleagues without mercy.
However, when Suji, who was shaking hands with everyone, noticed Juwon sitting next to Hojun, she hesitated.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
Here’s the story synopsis:
