Luce didn’t refuse and took a big bite of the skewer. Between the kind of training he used to do when first entering the Mage Tower, his research, and all the extra chores he’d taken on, he was constantly starving.

Thus, despite eating far more than usual, he wasn’t gaining weight—in fact, stress was making him steadily thinner. The Duke’s head chef had even deliberately started serving him extra oily dishes.

Though he felt like he might die from being busier now than when he’d been holed up in the Mage Tower, Luce’s heart no longer ached.

“The problem is that information on sorcerers is hard to find within the Empire. After all, sorcery has been taboo in the Caladia Empire and nearly driven to extinction.”
