After an awkward night in the new mansion, Ga Eul and Gi Tae headed to the apartment where Hee Sun was staying.

As they stepped into the elevator, Ga Eul asked cheerfully,

“President, which floor is it?”

“Twelfth floor.”

His lips curved into a faint smile the moment she turned briefly to press the button.

Ga Eul was visibly thrilled at the prospect of seeing her mother again after so long, but Gi Tae—who had pretended calmness the entire time—was actually feeling slightly nervous.

On the day he’d taken Hee Sun out of the mansion, she’d openly looked confused when he came to fetch her at the annex.

“Mother, you’ll be staying here from now on.”

“What? Why would I stay in an apartment like this…?”

All the way to this apartment, she hadn’t been able to hide her suspicion about why he’d suddenly taken her out of the mansion and insisted she stay in such a luxurious place.
