“Sunwoo, what do you think family is?”

“Huh?”

To Sunwoo, who was pressing him about why he’d leaked his own family secrets to the press, Park Chan Wook suddenly tossed out an unexpected question.

Sunwoo, who had never really given it much thought, looked at him in confusion.

“Well… I guess they’re people connected by blood who’ve lived together in the same house for a long time.”

“Is that so? Then Green isn’t family to you, I suppose. After all, you’re not related by blood, and you haven’t even lived together that long.”

“No, that’s not true.”

Sunwoo quickly denied Park Chan Wook’s pointed comment.

Though it was true he hadn’t known Green for long—and had lived with her for an even shorter time—Green was already someone incredibly precious to him, like family.

Instinctively, Sunwoo reached out and firmly grasped Green’s hand.

“To me, Green is closer than my own father. If I have to suffer, I’d rather she be happy. If I have to choose between her being in pain or me being in pain, I’d take the pain myself.”

Though his words were simple, they were filled with sincerity. Watching him speak so earnestly, Green’s face flushed bright red.

She felt slightly embarrassed that Sunwoo would so boldly declare his feelings in front of elders, but that embarrassment was drowned out by overwhelming emotion—hundreds of times stronger.

Park Chan Wook quietly observed Sunwoo and Green for a moment, then turned his gaze toward In Young.

“To you, In Young, Sunwoo was just that.”
